PoF story: Sparking the Flame, act 1 crashing

After fighting the Herald and minions but before starting the section to put out fires. At point where NPC Charr should be interactable.
"Commander, I have something that might help with the flames"
Instance crashes out and returns to character select screen.
4 times with Ranger "Erithan"
1 time with Necromancer "Bindair Dundat"
Blocking progress. Can not play PoF expansion without finishing story.

  • Any solution to this? it is happening to me as well.

  • Same here.

  • Same problem. It's happened twice in a row on my thief.

  • that's twice in a row now for me. I sure was excited to play the new expansion...

  • 2019 and this still persists....

  • It doesn't 'still' persist for the majority of players, as you can see by the amount of Mounts in-game.
You can contact the Tech CS Team via the 'Support' link.

    Good luck.

  • This issue is still happening, does anyone know of a workaround for it? Just getting back in to the game after 4 years away, and then hit this road block :(
I've raised a ticked with Arena Net, I'll share my results here when I get them...

  • Ok, I managed to get through this on the 5th attempt. Here's what I did: dismissed pet prior to cut scene (I'm a ranger), tabbed out as soon as cut scene started, waiting around 2 minutes. When I tabbed back I was able to interact with the NPC charr and complete the heart quest.
Don't know whether either or these had any effect, or whether it was just luck.

Aug 2019 - This is still happening at the same place.

    Twice on my Ranger.
Dismissed pet on 3rd run (after fighting the two 'dogs') and it worked, no crashes. Made it to Amoon.
