Why does HoT cost more than buying both HoT and PoF combined?

Right now HoT is $30 .. but if you combine both HoT and PoF it's $25 and PoF is $15

Why isn't HoT the same $15 price?

To me it doesn't make sense to leave HoT $5 more than buying both combined.

Probably because the HoT + PoF bundle is a sale price while the HoT only price is the standard price.

Because Path of Fire is currently 50% off.

Maybe you guys misunderstood. I know why the game is $25 for both cuz It's 50% off right now.. but it makes absolutely 0 sense to leave 1 expansion at a higher price than include it in the sale. at $15 like PoF.

Those that have GW2 vanilla wins, they can buy HoT+PoF for $25 (ie the full game).Those that have GW2+HoT wins, they can buy PoF for $15.Anet wants people on the full game (ie PoF) so that they can sell more mount skins etc.

Everybody wins.

Forget about HoT. In fact, going by previous trends this probably means HoT will soon be removed from the store alltogether.

They'd never take away the option of buying HoT, that's just a silly suggestion.

Probably because they'd rather have you buy both and get hooked on current content. You'll be more likely to buy the next expansion that way.

Yeah I get that completely, but I mean it seems rather odd just to charge $5 more for 1 xpac.. u know?

They probably want to encourage players to have both expansions and push more players to play the PoF expansion

Because POF is on a temporary sale right now I guess? Of course if you really want HOT right now buy the combo, pocket the 5$, and consider POF a free bonus.

When GW 2: Wrath of Bubbles comes, they should release one definitive version called Guild Wars 2 (has all 3 expansions) with bonus features, collectibles, and exclusive in-game items. Then LW S5 will be leading up to Guild Wars 3!!!!
