WvW Claim Message + Action Cam

Recommended Posts

If you play with Action Cam on (i do), the claim prompt for structures will automatically take you out of Action Cam. While it may seem like a minor issue, there are many times where this prompt will pop up while you are fighting, pulling you out of Action Cam and resulting in a very annoying 2-3 second panic and/or death.

It'd be nice if that particular prompt didnt take you out of Action Cam, that it could only be removed manually in WvW considering its an open PvP area. Or give us a tick in the options to choose if we want it to remove us from Action Cam or not.

That problem is most likely due to how Action Camera have been developed as a layer above tab target system (which means it is part of how UI where once orignally designed). This happen with every pop up message or dialogue input from player that it releases cursor from controlling character (movement keys - the direction camara and skill is tied change into tab target settings) with reticule and make it possible to move cursor to control UI instead.

This can cause issues like this to happen when Inventory are full (this is particular a problem before you unlock autoloot in WvW from WXP Provisioner track) or when one have the option to pick which guild that should be able to claim a camp.

It would need a redesign of UI to move it out of centre of screen and instead show a confirm around where minimap (compass) is normally located that could be confirmed with a keybind (special action key could be of use here as it doesn't have any other use in WvW).

Action Camara also happens to suddenly control overlay elements even when it should stay locked to reticule, so there is more that could have been done to avoid these things to happen, if ANet would put some effort into improving AC in the future.
