Ascended gear from WvW?

I'm just returning to the game after a multiyear layoff and am curious how viable it is to get a full set of ascended armor through wvw these days? I have full ascended jewelry, and I noticed there was an npc that sold some Triumphant ascended gear that you could get after you unlock the skins and guy the orange pieces. Is it realistic to get a full set of that ascended gear doing wvw?

Most people get the Triumphant ascended gear to create legendary armor.If your just after ascended it's easier to craft it.

What @devious.4605 said is right. Skirmish tickets take time. Those are needed to get the ascended, along with grandmaster Marks which, you can get both in time in WvW.

But crafting a set from materials that you have or buy is faster and usually cheaper.

Welcome back. Both spvp and wvw have paths to ascended gear in the 2018 game.

If you have rank 2k in wvw you can get T3 Mistforged Triumphant Hero Armor. If you can only get the T2 ascended wvw armor that requires crafting tokens then yeah I would just craft.
