Poly-luminescent refractor not working

I've gotten a loot-drop of a Poly-luminescent undulating refractor that says it attaches to a trinket. However, it doesn't work with any of my rings, amulets, or accessories. It is exotic, and all my trinkets are ascended, is that the reason? Will it not attach to an ascended trinket?

that is exactly the reason. it is exotic and the accessories are ascended, and it won't attach to anything but exotic.

You can't put those kinds of upgrades in ascended trinkets. So, you could put it in an exotic trinket, or you could convert the upgrade into the ascended infusion version.

Ascended trinkets need an infusion, they do not work with regular additions. You need to convert the refractor to the infusion version.

by the way to upgrade it into the infusion version you need to put 1 Poly-luminescent Undulating Refractor (colour), 1 Glob of Coagulated Mists Essence, 5 Mystic Crystal, and 1 (Mighty, Vital, Precise, Resilient, Healing, Spiteful, Malign or Mystical) +9 Agony Infusion into the mystic forge.

It's not worth all that, so I'll just sell it. Thanks for all the info.
