The best way to appreciate pvp...

... it's not to play ranked with a competitive state of mind.

It's useless because there is nothing more illogical than rewarding a single player (rank) with the gameplay of 4 random guys that system puts with you each different time. You can play well but lose because the system gives you the worst players. You can play bad but win because the system gives you the best players.Conquest mode has been made by developpers for a competitive goal of 5 premades coordinated pleople.

It's why so many people, who still think and fight like if rank has some meanings, become so angry and toxic because of the system.

Just play your none meta build. Just play with your own goals (killing without being killed, seeking 1v1...), not the goals of conquest mode. Collect your rewards. Have fun of people who criticize your way of playing and build, ennemies or allies.

And pvp now will be fun :)

And hope (or no) that dev. will think about it too and will bring a non conquest pvp mode for more than 5 random pugs who just tag pvp for fun, not a competitive state of mind.

Play an actual pvp game.

Fortnite Players, PUBG players, Counter Strike Go players, League of Legend players, Magic the Gathering players, Dragonball Fighter Z players, Hearthstone players, competitive Pokemon players, all complain about how broken and awful their game is endlessly and just as hard as we do about GW2.

Maybe take some time to go check out their forums and see how much greener everyone thinks all the other grass is. It's kind of funny.

There is one thing they can never complain about compared to GW2. Their devs actually put pvp development in the first place. They put money and manwork to develop their competitive game modes. Meanwhile we have gw2, with ancient conquest, failed stronghold and never to be relevant deathmatch and 2v2 and no views of any serious resources being put into pvp ever again.

They do actually complain about that though. Like look at how much complaining is done about "All the budget is being spent on cash skins instead of fixing their broken game." with just league of legends for example.

I fully agree OP, I wanted to play competitively at first, and then when my full support Druid build got top damage dealt 3 games in a row with a whopping 200k damage, and out capped my thieves, I decided fuck it, I’ll just do what I want and have a good time, been a much better decision.

it happens in every f2p/lootbox game like gw2

Sorry but you are wrong on some points. The only thing that is in every game is you. That means you can play 5 games and get 1 afk in each, but the next five, that afk can be in the opposing team. In the end, after 100 games+, it does not matter if you got some afkers or feeders or whatever because they have more chance to be in the opposing team than in your team.

What is actually triggering people with core Guard? It's a tryhard build now? You barely see it in actual tryhard environments like AT's.Is it the low skill floor and how easy it is to use? If it is you could have picked at least 3 other specs that are easier to play and actually more rewarding too.

Also, what @mortrialus.3062 says, to an extent. I played Overwatch and it's no different - no matter what division you're in, most people think they're better than where they are and are just being dragged down by bad teammates and poor matchmaking. The actual frustrations that are unique to GW2 have to do with the low population. In Overwatch you don't typically play with people who are in a different skill bracket, in GW2 it's very common so you end up with people being frustrated that they can't climb up 100 rating because them and the people who are 100 rating above them play in the same games anyway. Said it before, it's time to cut down the number of divisions to 2-3 to reflect the actual population in PvP, we will be less frustrated when there isn't some arbitrary barrier to break for a shiny new badge when the difference between Gold 3 and Plat 1 for example is basically nonexistent.

And you tell us that a pvp with so many afk / deco / giveup boys / toxics / wintrading, RNG of teams is serious for a ranked system ? haha.

No. Easier? No. Condithief is on the same braindead lvl yes but not easier. It is the best spec to carry totally clueless ppl. Condimirage for example (is ofc a noobcarry spec too) carries less when the player has no clue about rotation and is only random skill clicking. For an average player condimirage will be more rewarding than core guard but for the biggest monkeys core guard it is. That is why all the noobs don't complain about core guard because that is some noobcarryshit even they can play and just switch to and get carried themself during when they switch to a mesmer what they complain about the most they feel that it will not carry them that easy when they rly have no clue (ofc they would never admit that). A bad condimirage is an easier kill then a bad core guard and that with like all classes i play. Mesmers get so much hate because it destroys noobs during carrying less than other classes on low skill lvl. Leaving the biggest noobs in a state of getting destroyed by something that will not carry them the same way it destroys them. And they get destroyed for the same reason they cannot rly play this class themself: they just have no clue about the class and/or simple have too less skill or sometimes even too less braincells. No matter that condimirage ofc needs some nerfs and is rly ez to play and cancerous atm but still not the easiest. The most rewarding yes, but only when the player is at least average.

I did not say that is was serious or whatever. Learn to read.

I said, that overall, it does not matter because afkers/feeders etc... have more chance to be in the opposing team, except if you are yourself one. And that after 100 games and more, you won't see any difference and anyway, that system is design to bring you around 50% win rate.

So you tell us nevertheless that we must take seriously a ranked mode with all those situations. You really serious ?

Mhm. GW2's PVP's biggest problem is the small population.

I forgot about Overwatch. People in that game constantly complain about how all the focus and resources spent on skins drags down balancing the game and making a good matchmaker. While also desperately wanting the skins they don't have.

So what. I said to play proper pvp games, not their forums. GW2 pvp is unsupported, autopiloted beta game to be played in between LW farmsodes.

"Omg Overwatch is a casino scam released just to sell lootboxes omg. Overwatch PvP is nothing but a meme and a trap lol"

You and I both know if you mained Overwatch that's exactly the sort of thing you (Yes YOU) would be spewing all over their forums. Same with league. Same with Hearthstone. Same with PUBG. Same with anything.

Except I main GW2, a game which is not PvP centered game. Comparing this game to proper pvp games is laughable.
