beetle collection #3, can not do SW

The alpha beetle will not spawn, at least in 54.208.129.57. One person had been there since 10 AM EST waiting. The theory is it is hung on a glitched mordem event.

Have you sat at the hero point and killed that beetle when it spawns?

That is not where it was when I did it. Maybe it has multiple spawn points?

It was a bit south of the entrance into The Mystery Cave.

From what I understand, it can essentially spawn in any of the 4 corners of Far SW. However, I have seen it most frequently in the NW and SW corner of the map. See the attached. When I got mine for the achievement, I was there for 3 respawns and found him respawning in the same NW spot on the map. Also, look for a train or squad in LFG as many are doing the collections bosses atm.

It seems some instances were 'bugged' .... I wound up getting a taxi to another shard.

Killing other beetles in the area seems to trigger it, at least it did for me.

Does seem like if another event bugs out there it can prevent this one. We sat for a long time with the Mordrem event at 3/4 but no Mordrem. Did go to another instance and discovered that it spawned there. Taxied in the people from the other event. Seem to have spawned almost as soon as finished the Mordrem event.Edit: For clarity was waiting for the Alpha. Does seem like has now been rebranded as a Champion Beetle which confused some people also.

Maybe people should actualy read patch notes.https://en-forum.guildwars2.com/discussion/44775/game-update-notes-june-26-2018#latestUpdated the “Kill the alpha beetle” event to be a champion group event.

This bug report was before the alpha beetle was renamed and is because another event could glitch it.
