PVE : Weaver Bug Fix Fallout Math

So taking different samples, it seems like on average(arithmetic) on a Huge Hitbox Meteor Shower does 28.5% of the damage while on an Average Hitbox it is 20%.The damage coefficient is apparently going to be reduced from 2.6 to 1.6. Using Snow Crows benchmarks (assuming the rotation remains the same) these are the numbers you can expect.I consider myself a decent player and I can constantly do about 93% of the Snowcrows benchmark so I will include that as an average.

[Large]---------------------------------------[small]46,506 --> 41,408 (38,510 Avg)----------39,314 -->36,290 (33,750)41,956 --> 37,357 (34,742)---------------36,444 --> 33,641 (31,286)41,094 --> 36,589 (34,028)---------------33,136 --> 30,587 (28,446) --- (around 65 seconds)38,418 --> 34,207 (31,812)---------------33,183 --> 30,630 (28,486)37,978 --> 33,815 (31,448)---------------33,181 --> 30,629 (28,485)

This looks somewhat bad if you consider the entire thing. However, how about considering just boss phases or trash packs? Do those usually last more than 20 seconds? Do boss phases usually last more than 65 seconds?

If you look at only the first 65 seconds or so of the rotation, then on a large target, Weaver is still the best choice (although not by much).

On a small target, it's on par with other classes for the first 2 numbers, which is about 40 seconds. However it drops heavily after that.

I wouldn't mind the nerf/fix so much if it only meant that staff was going to get some better condi dmg.Sure nerf lava font and meteor shower power dmg, but add some burns to it. Maybe then we could have a hybrid staff weaver being better for longer fights, and the current burst power better for short/phased fights...

Is lava font the only fire field in the game that doesn't burn?

I don't understand the randomness in their nerfs on ele aside from trying to let other classes compete with them in DPS.I have a small feeling that either an even bigger nerf will break the class or something good will happen for them in the future in terms of trait and skill synergy.

If my math ends up becoming the reality then I do think weaver can still function. I do think they should undo the lava font nerfs if anything though. That will probably be the straw that breaks the camels back. Any further nerfs will kill the class. It still has the benefit that it’s top DPS for the first 60 or so seconds of a fight.

It's actually worse when you consider the entire thing.

SC benchmark kills the golem in a burst peak. Some more HP and the numbers would look different, and substantially worse. This translates directly into fights with phases. And worse yet - it makes your dps dependent on your group dps. If your group can maintain high enough damage to phase in single burst, then you'd be great. If not, you'd be much less useful.

In effect, this shoehorns weaver into still being BiS for high-end statics while being of questionable viability in pugs.
