Mac 2017 Touch Bar

When I first installed the game my touch bar auto generated most of the "F" keys 1 threw 5 and had the Control panel for brightness and volume on the right. Today the controls panel is still there but all F keys are gone. I can assign the F keys to the app in System preferences but that gives me all 1 through 12 F keys and no control panel. I don't know if it is user error or if something has changed but I just want my touch bar back to how I had it, ie with most of the F keys and the Control Panel.Ive searched online for answers for 3 hours and found nothing that works so any help would be great.Please advise.

Take a look at your System Preferences for Keyboard. Specifically, fiddle around with the "Touch Bar shows" drop down and possibly "Press Fn key to".

why not just plug in a windows usb keyboard? mac recognises standard windows keyboard layout

I had to do it often when I did remote support on windows PC

I just had the same issue and you have to switch to expanded control strip, when the app controls it, it sometimes glitches
