Lounges are not all equal

Recommended Posts

I was looking at the different lounges and noticed some have more services than others. For instance the Lava Lounge has a dungeon vendor. But others don't. The Royal Terrace is missing Black Lion Chest, Exchange Specialist and Weapons Specialist merchants. Noble's Folly has the Black Lion Weapon Specialist but missing a few others. I think you get the point. Yet all these lounge passes cost the same amount. Whether it's the permanent pass (1,000 gems) or a 2 week pass (150 gems). I don't think this is right. If I'm going to spend my money on a lounge, I expect it to have all the same services as any other lounge. Please look into this. Thanks.

That's not the point though. Of course I would buy the one with the most services. However these other lounges should also contain the same services if they are going to cost the same amount of gems. Otherwise you're paying the same amount for less content. And I don't think that's right.

You are mistaken, as the Royal Terrace does include the Black Lion Exchange Specialist (that's where I exchanged my old Gathering Tools and Town Clothes), as well as the Black Lion Chest Merchant.

What each lounge offers that differs from others, and can't be included in each (sans the Mistlock Sanctuary) is layout and location. I use the Royal Terrace and the Lily of the Elon for proximity to areas. Otherwise, I would exclusively use the Royal Terrace for its layout.

Maybe they could add the option to the portal.

Also all lounges should offer the same services as they cost the same amount of gems. I own three passes, the DR one because it was the first I wanted to get in on the QoL-Action, the Mistlock one because I love fractals and it's just so much better than the DR one, and the Elon Lily I got for early purchase. So this is not about getting andything handed out to me, it's just that identically priced items, that should only differ in style, are offering different levels of QoL that I think is unfair.

Apparently they can't add the ability to return to your location to the other lounges - it's a technical limitation not a lack of somewhere to offer the option. When you go from the open-world to another kind of map the game remembers your location in the open-world, but when you move from one open-world location to another it doesn't...or rather it's over-written by your current location. So the data doesn't exist to move you back where you were. I seem to remember they said it might be possible to change that but it's more work than they can justify doing for a relatively minor QoL change for a minority of players.

It rarely bothers me though. I've had temporary Mistlock passes before (can't remember where from, except I didn't buy them) and now I have the permanent Lily of the Elon pass and it's very rare that I want to use it and then go back where I was. If I want to access the bank, a merchant or the TP I can go to the Heart of the Mists (or use one of the consumables from login rewards) and everything else can generally wait until I'm finished with my current location and moving on anyway.

But I do agree that they should all have the same vendors and services available. As far as I know there's enough space to add NPCs to all of them, and things could potentially be combined like the way the old dungeon vendors in LA were combined into 1.

One thing I'd really like is Sonder the Seller (the festival vendor) added to the Lily so I can exchange my candy corn and snowflakes without having to go to LA.
