How do you do this

I am a Nerco. I want change my special ablity to that big giant shadow looking thing with the giant blade but I'm the smoke mist thing. How do I change it in wvw. I know how in PVP. I go to the top of screen and click "high dps/support" I don't see this there

open heropanel ( standard H)2nd tab from top.select trait on the right bottom side like in spvp. you want a reaper in the bottom traitline.

I still see the "death shroud" no matter how I change my spec. I still have death sword and I want other special ablity one turns me into a reaper looking thing

do you talk about the skill at the right end of your bar or ontop of your bar?are you level 80 and have unlocked the elite specialisations?

You may wish to examine and copy all of your traits.. Sounds like you've been PvP only til now? WvW uses a very different equipment system, each piece has to be purchased and slotted as opposed to the quick-play ready made characters you're used to

Are you talking about the #10 Elite skill? WvW has its own build separate from the rest of the game modes and will change to what you have set for each when entering.

When I'min PVP the set is different than one in WvW

Are you talking about reaper shroud or lich form? Lich form doesn’t have a giant blade that I recall though... reaper has a scythe....

Which brings us back to the previous question asked. Are you level 80 and have the Reaper Tait line fully unlocked?

You need to hit level 80 and unlock it for pve by going to heart of thorns area, or the path of fire and doing every single hero point you can find until you can unlock reaper.

Typically you need quite a bit of hero points and further in you tend to get around 10 points per hero point in maguma.

Also while its not always needed for the build, it is recommended to use the greatsword for pve.

I believe it's 250 to complete. 30 to enter. 10 for the traits 15-20 for the utilities (some of specs actually cost more) and then the last one is another 25. You can also earn HP's in WvW by earning Testimonies of Heroics and trading those in for HP scrolls. You can get 6 Testimonies of Heroics everytime you earn a chest from your reward ticks. And I think you get 10 of them everytime you level up in WvW. You get one scroll per 10 TH's. Depending on how active you are (you have to have a Participation Level of 3 in order to get reward ticks) you could plow through an Elite in a couple of days. You likely can do the same in open world but at least in WvW you can also work a reward track of your choice and so gain additional gear.

He needs 40 for reaper shroud, first 30 let him use greatsword, but not reaper shroud. I assume that's the core issue of his problem, he didn't train it yet for one reason or another.

PvP unlocks everything. WvW does not. So you will have to grind Hero Points in PvE or play WvW, get Skirmish chests and buy the Testimonies to unlock them.

Not really. I think it's awesome that PvP gives you access to everything. It means new players can start competing alongside vets. Matches become more about skill and not about who has spent more time in the game. WvW and PvE are two different modes of play and there it is logical that you have to actually unlock everything you need if you want to make use of it. WvW gives you access to Hero Points anyway so it's not like the mode doesn't help you out with getting there.
