After using the 80 boost, then what?

Do i have to suffer alone in the jungle unlocking the HoT elite spec, before i can move on to the current content?

Nope. Just start the PoF story and you can go straight to the desert...by way of LA. You shouldn't have to enter Verdant Brink at all, if you don't want.

Edit: Start the PoF story from the Hero Panel. 4th icon down should be the Story Journal. Just select the PoF story and start it from there.

Only thing is that there seem to be more HPs in HoT than there are in PoF (that I've seen so far, but I could very well be wrong about that).

The thing with both HoT/PoF HPs is that for every one HP you successfully receive, you're credited with ten points instead of just one, which will help you train your desired elite specialization that much faster.

There are also people now running HP trains in PoF, as they did and still sometimes do in HoT. Keep an eye on the LFG (Looking For Group) tool, in the "Y" panel. Best of luck to you.

Yes. Yes you do. Good news is you can also suffer in PoF to get even more hero points for the Second Specialization class! I guess money isn't good enough to get all specialization skills when you turn instant 80... but hey! At least you didn't have to ransack all of Tyria for hero points like you did on your other 20 toons that didn't instant 80 level.
