It's because they were not intended to replace CC skills. That was what was mentioned in their "guild chat" stream at least.

Its not just the cc skills, its also weapons and consumables that are usefull.

You can't change weapons once you're in combat as far as equipping. That's also counter to what the gemstore is for with respect to templates, Utility & Metabolic Primers and such. If you need a button for something that you need to use every 30 minutes to one hour I don't know what to say.

Making a template just to swap back a forth on a weapon is a waste and simply having an extra bar of buttons to bind that action on is way more convenient.

The ppl that would want an extra action bar to bind foods, items and consumables would also bind weapons there for small boosts to whatever they are doing (like swapping to focus on mesmer for a quick speed boost before a tricky jump or between all weapons an ele would swap to build might).

How about some minis of the supporting characters from the core game story? We have tons of minis of characters from Path of Fire that I have no clue who those people are, but no minis of:
Amaranda the Lonesome, Malyck, Tegwen, Carys, Agent Zrii, Galina Edgecrusher, Snarl Backdraft, Teyo, Kudu, Professor Gorr, Smodor the Unflinching, Alastia Crow, Knut Whitebear, Beigarth, Occam, Laranthir, Ogden, Renvari, Tiachren, Yvelta, Elli. Steward Gixx, Riel Darkwater, Warmaster Efut, Eye of Zhaitan, Mouth of Zhaitan, The Shatterer. The Claw of Jormag, (Im sure there are others that I missed)

And onthe chair front, how about just a regular ol Lazy Boy leather recliner and some beach chairs?

Totally agree for the minis! I don't think there is a mini agent batanga or mini teyo and I would enjoy to have those.

Change World Completion (Gift of Exploration x2) to any total 303 hearts, 486 WP’s, 652 PoI’s, 189 HP’s, and 226 Vistas (regardless of chapter/expansion, LWS, IBS, etc.). This would allow characters to make GoE progress from any open world PVE map in the game instead of being restricted to core Tyria. Working on GoE's is probably the biggest repeatable solo content for characters to do, but since it is limited only to core Tyria maps, it can feel very restrictive and repetitive (all core Tyria maps feel the same). Allowing characters to play more maps in the game for GoE's would open up more solo contents to do. Too many level 80 maps have very little solo contents (HoT maps, Dragonfall, Drizzlewood, etc.), or are only worth doing once per account for a collection/achievement. Not only that, some of us veterans want to use more brain power than just face rolling our way through core Tyria, which is often just too easy to be engaging.

Also, let the Gift of Mastery, Gift of Maguuma Mastery, and Gift of Desert Mastery be interchangeable for all legendary weapons (it's weirdly inconsistent right now since only some legendaries have interchangeable GoM's).

  • Hi.,
I feel we could use a Taimi studio themed Training Facility, a spaced theme, or a Rata Sum insipired high tech high gravity / tensity training room. Where a waypoint could be placed in. And of course it can link to Rata Sum or any place the story deems fit.

    Facility has to include,

    • Different level of bots for equipment or skills practise
    • Bot allies for heals training
    • Army of bots for AOE training
    • Waypoint for fast travel

Etc etc.. The current one at Hall of Memories is ok but lacked a spot for heals training, and really could do with a WP directly on it.

It probably could give our toons a scan so we need not have to download the ARCdps which slows down framesrate per second.

  • Grandmaster Marks - Add vendor tabs in PVP and WvW that allow players to trade marks of one armor weight for another.

I was on the PvP grind and selected the medium armor marks from the league chests. Now I want to make WvW heavy armor but cannot utilize the 3 medium armor marks I gained from PvP.

  • Oh wait! He's hidden behind that wall of tool-tips that I can't disable!!! =)

But kidding apart guys, my wishes for the New Lunar year of the Ox would be to have an option to disable the mouse-over tool-tips on the skill bar. Those tool-tips, once you know your build, are just annoying and immersion breaking. And if there a special mission skill I need to read the description, I would just go check or uncheck the box to read it and then disable it again to continue. This option I'm talking about is available in Guild Wars 1.

Seeing this in GW2 would make my year for sure! :3

    Thanks everybody!!! =)

Ah, you must be a skill-clicker, yeah? I imagine they thought most people would use their keyboard both for directional movement and for skill use, but clearly that's not the case for everyone.

Tooltips don't really bother me (and are vital when you get a new buff or action skill whose instructions for use are included in said tip), but I can see why having a show/hide toggle in the settings might be useful.

The UI could do with a number of refinements and customization options, and this one seems fairly reasonable from a QoL standpoint.

  • Not sure if this thread is still checked, but there's a QoL thing I've been desiring for a good while now:

_Allow players to consume skins and transform them into a transmutation charge rather than apply them to an armor. _

This would serve the intended purpose of the skin allowing one free application AND give purpose to the extra skins that come from armor bundles. So if someone buys an Aetherblade armor pack and doesn't care for the mantle, they can still get some value out of that mantle skin by consuming it and using that charge to transmute something else. Or if you wanted to apply different parts of the armor set to different characters, this process would make it easier than shuffling the skins to shared inventory or bank space. It also lets the player decide later if they want to use the skin on one character or another without taking up valuable inventory space.

If making each skin = 1 charge is overkill, perhaps bring back those old transmutation shards that can be combined to make charges (like how BL ticket scraps are combined to make a full ticket.)

And ofc it probably should not apply to skins sold by vendors (that would be a bit broken).

I say this as someone who already has more than enough transmutation charges but still feels a little twinge of pain at deleting a skin I'm not planning to use yet (not a big fan of things going to waste.)

Get used to using your keyboard. It’ll be weird at first, but much better in the long run.

  • Oxstar.7643Oxstar.7643 Member ✭✭✭

The "keyboard vs clicker" debate is old, tired, and leads nowhere. Some people just feel more comfortable clicking, and they are as much players as the rest of us. ANet should just build for both.

    Okay. Pay attention everyone!
    1. Countess Anise's Full Proper outfit.
    2. Exemplar Attire Corset as a standalone armor piece.
    3. Noble dress worn by many human female npcs (The one you have as a background for mesmer Domination traitline).
    4. Long, loose hairstyle for every race. (This is very much QoL for me.)

This probably has been suggested before. But I would like to suggest a open inventory slot. So just a single slot (maybe 2) which stays open with a key. Since consumables, and or the portal device, require you to open the inventory, maybe we could get something like the shared inventory slot, which you can keep open without opening the whole inventory.

  • I have a idea...
In the Wardrobe tab make "Costume" Tabs.
so we can create our costumes save them in a Costume Tab and switch between them at will.

And make a Ihan ( order of whispters ) miniature.

  • You should define what you mean by costume and explain how players create a costume.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet might give it to you.

    Forum Guides: Images. Text

  • Assume it means an outfit you've put together, dyed, and would like to save without having to re-do it if you switch attire. Basically like a saved template for fashion. I like the idea, would be handy for when you want to change it up, but also would like to save a particular look for another day.

  • AgentMoore.9453AgentMoore.9453 Member ✭✭✭✭

As much as I like this idea, I don't think they're gonna do it.

They have equipment templates that function as 'costume' slots, and they're already monetized. It's a clunky system, and in my opinion not the best way to implement saved looks, but to go any further on the FashionWars front, they'd have to completely rework the wardrobe system to devise another way of storing dyes/certain armor combinations.

The last time they made such a gargantuan effort was when they implemented the wardrobe system in the first place, so while it's not impossible that they might do it again, it just seems unlikely.

  • ^

That’s true. The Equipment Templates can be used as an armor costume slot and are available for purchase in the gemstore. It looks like the OP’s request is already fulfilled.

Be careful what you ask for
ANet might give it to you.

Valid point, I use them for pve, wvw, etc...they would work for a closet. Clunky is a great word for it. Sadly, no they likely would not bring in such a feature due to the monetary aspect that already exists.

Lol still would be fun 😉

For WvW - it would be nice to be able to repair walls from the outside. Not every tower (durios for example) can be repaired from the outside. Please apply this to all towers, keeps, etc. as it would save time having to go inside just to repair a wall.

  • Batch selling at lock in price to TP. So that load time is once and not multiple times.
Unsoulbound tool. Sell it to us

  • This has been an ugly blemish on the UI for years, especially on larger scales and smaller monitors.

Can we have an adjustable window similar to that of the new Squad system? so we can crop/scroll through to check food and etc with more convenience?

    That'd be cool.

Can we also have some investigation into the new undetected cheat clients for the game? I have seen players with 4 hours of fury, teleportation and multiple casts of large cooldown abilities as of late. That is not a healthy gaming environment especially for something that touts such a competitive gameplay style.

    Thanks for reading,

Convert all chairs that looks like they can move into movable chairs. Convert movable chairs into travel toys.

So far, Icebrood Saga weapon collections cost 3845 Gold to craft!
*Does not include Volcanic Stormcaller set, Runic Armor, or Icebrood Infusion.

small, but useful QoL would be:

a quickslot / quickuse section in the inventory/bag UI, like maybe on top of the shared slots, say 2 slots initially (and then you can buy more via gems or gold or whatever currency or free if possible) where you can put consumable items or anything applicable that you can use on demand via a hotkey you can bind in options.

these slots are not real slots and will just point to an item/consumable in your inventory kind of like how putting items into your hotbar in other rpgs/mmorpgs work.

useful for consumables like food and utilities or things like the prototype position rewinder/gadgetry or lounge passes -- it would be nice to be able to refresh food/utility buffs (if you forgot to beforehand) in the middle of battle while remaining focused on the fight

Optional cursors, please. GW2 has a beautiful interface (imo) but cursors really "disappear" during combat; we should not need an addon to solve that issue: please, give us options!

It is mpossible to allow dyes preview for the mounts skins preview on the gemstore? It is more than infuriating, how can i know if i want a mount skin if I can't even try dyes on it?

  • I don't know if it is the right place but you made the most beautiful backpack / glider wings set. "Wings of love". The ringing they making when opening is very annoying at long term and the heart effect don't always fit the intended character. They is already a "White Feathered Wings" backpack / glider combo. It look a bit weird, too large (looking like mickey mouse ears), my weapons always seem to pierce trough them and the physic of gliding with them seem wrong to so many level. White and black feathered wings seem to suffer from these issue as they seem made from the same model. Hawk, Macaw, Golden and Love wings look much better. It would be a good idea to make a new set of white and black wing using the template of the wing of love. In fact the white feathered wings look more caricatural than the wing of love.

don't know how they'll call it though.... Absolute Abyss Dye? Infinity Black Dye? Void Dye? okay i ran out of creative ways to name it lol

  • Not sure if this is the right spot for this, but as a former Mac user I'm having a hard time changing over to Windows because the trackpad doesn't work the same... The setting for the gesture controls was a Mac only setting, and it made the game much easier to play. Hoping the devs see this. Even if they can't add this feature I would like to know why...

Have you looked for some external/Windows program that emulates this (whatever "this" is)?

    X__________________________

  • So basically, what the touchpad does right now is when I scroll up or down it zooms in and out. And scrolling to either side does nothing. What I want it to do, and what it did with the setting on Mac is when I scroll up the camera looks up, and when I scroll down the camera looks down (or maybe it was the other way around.) And when I scroll left and right I want the camera to look left and right... It doesn't do any of this so it's a pain to play now.

  • Um...use a mouse? I would not enjoy playing Guild Wars 2 (or probably most games) with a touchpad.

  • I need the portability that comes of only needing the laptop and charging cord. A mouse needs a desk, and adds extra cords, and that's not manageable for me... Thanks for the suggestion though.

since you're on a windows laptop, have you tried checking what kind of trackpad comes with your laptop? (you can check from the manufacturer's website)

reason i asked is because some laptops come with touchpads/trackpads that offer special functions like gestures if the additional software and drivers for it are installed, like the Synaptics Touch Pad series (can google if you want) -- there could be other devices which offer the same features on your laptop but that's the only one i am aware of. maybe you just need to install the additional software to gain the functionality you're looking for.

as for GW2 adding a "gestures" feature i doubt that's something they'd consider. the mac GW2 client having gestures is because the said gestures are probably available on an OS/driver level (meaning every app is affected if/when allowed) and may not be necessarily be a mac GW2 client feature -- anet just needed to add a toggle to allow it to pass through to the client -- the windows GW2 client cannot possibly implement this feasibly unless you want ArenaNet to write third party software to interface with your mouse/touchpad driver an effort which i think they would rather not do nor spare resources for as that involves testing hardware and software with the many different track/touchpads available on non-mac laptops

  • Ok thank you. I'll try the Synaptics... I'd already fiddled with the trackpad settings, but nothing really seemed to affect the game so I assumed the thing that was missing was that setting. Thank you for explaining why it would be a lot of work for them too. I'm not very good with technical stuff so I had no idea how much work that would be for them.

Exactly. matte, darker than Shadow abyss. Even dyes that are really black, there is a black dye in game but it is more dark gray in fact.
    About the names...
    -Void Dye
    -Space Dye
    -Dark Aster Dye
    -Infinite Darkness Dye
-Vantablack Dye (one of darkest black in real world)
    -Creeping Shadows Dye
    -Blackest Black Dye
    -Null Dye

Would like a black dye to that make edges looks orange/red, for name, Eclipse Dye. Would like to see more dye that are a certain color but make the edges of differents pieces have another color.

  • Not sure of other race home instances (I always farm on human), but some of the nodes/chests are located right next to interactable NPCs and are quite annoying. Is there any chance to move them a bit so they're not stacked on top of one another?

In Divinity Reach, I can think of the following:

    • Sprocket / Tree x2 corner (the cheering children)
    • Difluorite (2 NPCs walking by then stand near node)
    • Orrian Oyster (2 quaggans, 1 often right on top of the node)
    • Kournan Cache (2 NPCs right in front of the access point since the cart blocks other angles)

Again, not sure if any other cities have similar issues, but it seems like a quick QoL fix...

  • You can farm 'on human' in any of the Home Instances.
I prefer Dreamer's Terrace, but others prefer the other Home Instances.

  • A "Collapse All Categories" button for the crafting list would be great.

And while you're at it, make all craft speeds the same. Having some things take longer than others is completely arbitrary at this point in the game's life and just wastes the player's time. Might as well learn from Diablo 3 here and allow players to craft stacks in one go.

Oh, and fix the Choya Logging Tool. The amount of times I have to repeat chopping a tree because the last chop didn't register is massively annoying.
