Wing 6 achievements

Ok this is not directly a LS4E4 question, but since this content comes from the same update I will ask here.

Why did you reduce the achievement point rewards for W6 so much compared to previous raids?

W1: 91 AP, 4 mastery points. Valeguard and Gorseval give 10 AP each, Sabetha 15 AP
W2: 107 AP, 6 mastery points. Sloth and Matthias give 15 AP each + 3 "CMs" 15 AP each
W3: 107 AP, 4 mastery points. Escort, KC, Xera give 15 AP each, castle 10 AP
W4 (arguably the easiest raid): 155 AP, 4 mastery points. Each nm boss is 10 AP, each CM 15 AP (+50 for having all)
W5: 115 AP, 1 mastery point Each boss and event is 10 AP, and 2 CMs for 15 AP each

Now W6 has only 79 AP, 2 mastery points. Each boss is only 5 AP, even CMs only 5 AP.
To bring it back in line all the normal modes in w6 should give 10 AP and the CMs 15 AP. Then we would have only a total of 124, which seems fair in comparison to the others

I was debating as to whether or not to add another AP post, but I hadn't seen this context which is useful. Would be nice to get further discussion on the previous dev comments and why things are being budgeted so low (outside of festivals which seem to be treated differently) when the feedback has been for more rewarding AP for years now.

What sleep is here? What dreams there are in the unctuous coiling of the snakes mortal shuffling. weapon in my hand. My hand the arcing deathblow at the end of all things. The horror. The horror. I embrace it. . .

  • To add to this note, the story release saw by far the most AP added in one episode. If they budget AP by releases then it actually is a high AP release. Unfortunately this is not split evenly by content. I too want somewhat stable rewards in every raid and also feel that AP should be balanced by content types, even if one release comes with far more or far less overall.

  • This was a bit of an oversight on our end. We'll likely look to normalize the AP values in a future patch.

Since raids, LS are different parts of the game, they should have seperate AP budgets I hope. But personally I see no reason to have AP budgets at all. If Anet would have to add new AP rewards every 2 years or so, that is hardly more than a small fraction of the total rewards added to the game during that time frame and thus should not be much of an issue considering how much longevity a proper achievement system can add to a game. I for one I am always saddened to see how many longterm achievement possibilities are getting missed which would add 100s hours of exta playtime (with very little dev time required) for people who want to collect achievements/titles.

  • While it's awesome to see additional AP for wing 6, i think it's safe to say AP needs to be overturned across the board
