Garrison Historian achievement not incrementing

Recommended Posts

I have now done the 3-event sequence with Eshid to and from the Garrison, waited for her post-event dialog with HIstorian Sivvi, and talked to Sivvi 5 times. My Garrison Historian achievement still sits at 2/4. It incremented the first time, did not increment the 2nd, incremented the 3rd, and has not incremented the past 2 times I've done the sequence. I have done nothing significantly different any of the times I've done the events, and the dialogs have been essentially the same. What is going on?

you need to participate in all 3 events, escort to garrison by killing mobs, do the collection, and escort back by killing mobs, then will it be counted when you talk to Sivvi

mine was bugged in a different way, I joined during the collection stage when i only have the achieve at 2/4, so i was not able to claim the 3rd onebut when i did the full event chain, i got 4/4 from 2/4; not that i'm complaining

I don't know if this is useful, but just to provide some new info:I did this events several times, but never talked to Sivvi at the end (because I didn't know I had to/I forgot it). Yesterday I completed all the escort and talked to Sivvi for the first time and I completed the achievement (it went directly from 0/4 to 4/4). So apparently you don't need to talk to her every single time.

I think there is a bit of a misunderstanding on how this works, which is probably on me because it is rather opaque (The conversation kind of implies it, but...)The conversation unlocks based on the number of Abandoned Supplies you turned in turning a completed run. Each layer unlocks every 4 or so supplies. Theoretically, you can unlock more or less than 1 per run based on how many you get.

EDIT: Just did a quick check, it is in fact based on character and not account as to how far you get in the conversation. The achievement itself is obviously account-wide.

Does it count up the number you've handed in over time or do you have to have handed in at least 4 during the event for it to count? Also is it character-based? Because I ran the event on an alt earlier and I swear the progress had reset

I turned in 9 Abandoned Supplies in 1 run (plus other 9 in a previous run, where I didn't talk to Sivvi though), that's why it went straight from 0 to 4 when I talked to her. Actually, after reading better the description of the achievement (Bring Priory Historian Sivvi enough material to learn the whole history of Argon Garrison), it makes sense.I blindly followed Dulfy (Repeat this chain of event four times, each time talking to Sivvi and you will complete the achievement) that's why it seemed wrong...

Not your fault, and thanks for the clarification. I'm so used with obscure descriptions and lack of hints that now I go straight to external websites to check. This time ANet's hint was clearer :)

It doesn't seem to be cumulative, because I had done this event several times, netting 5-7 items on each occasion, while spending the rest of the time rezzing others or killing the mobs so that other folks could run supplies.

After reading (and finally understanding) Jimmy Fallon's Connor Fallon's advice above, I stuck to just running supplies to get 9 and it finally progressed passed 2/4 to 4/4.

Thanks for the tips.
