Trouble Logging Into the Game

So let me preface this by saying that this problem started after I fought Tequatl following the daily reset (the game usually works fine for me in general). I began getting really high ping spikes during the event to the point where my computer actually froze once the event ended. I decided to shut down my computer and restart it thinking that it must have been something on my end (it could very well have been, I do not know).

Once my computer was running again, I booted the GW2 launcher back up and I started noticing something: I seem to be having a lot of trouble logging in. Sometimes, I can't even log into the launcher. Other times, I am able to make it into the character selection screen but beyond that, I can't make it past the loading screen into the map.

I'm not sure what's going on or if I'm the only one having this particular issue at the moment. Any help would be appreciated, though.
