ANet impliment "simple" fix to stealth?

Based upon the concept provided in this thread this is a simple concept; would we like ANet to change stealth to the following;

  • No changes to skills or traits as they stand.
  • Now stealth looks to everyone like it would to party members (the predator cloak look from the movies).
  • Still breaks targeting and can't be targeted while in stealth. However, could still be cleaved or AoE as now (just easier to tell if they are anywhere near you).
  • Would work with AI as it works now (so for PvE and clearing camps, no changes).
  • Still useful in close combat if used well, but best as a avoiding combat at range where it's harder to see option. You know, sneaking like the word STEALTH implies.

The theory on this method is that it probably requires the least development resources on ANet's part, and is perhaps most likely to be implemented quickly.

I would be happy to see the "cloaking" effect without a range limit. It should require less coding too. If you have the eyes to spot a cloaked Deadeye at 1200 range then fair play to you, but at least you would have a chance to spot them before they snipe you.

None would be the wiser of the stealth attack.

Personally, I'd go slightly further than this "simple" fix. Scrap the range requirement and make it dependant on movement instead. Thief stand still - invisible. Thief is moving - shimmering. Apply it to all stealth. Simple.

if they'd fix some visual "bugs" with certain effects and backpacks this might work.

probably would need some tweaking like remove the distance requirement and make it so you're fully invisible when standing still or inside certain skills like Shadow Refuge or Sneak Gyro.

probably would require some Revealed application to be nerfed (from leaving shadow refuge or attacking from stealth for example, not from skills)

I'm fine with these changes, but I'd also like to see some adjustments for other classes. Say warrior:

No changes to skills or traits as they stand.Blocking now only blocks a percentage of incoming physical damage based on your toughness less your power. With a minimal 25%.With the exception of actual dodges, all evade skill now have a percentage chance to evade. Minimally 25% with an increase proportional to the distance of the target to the attacking source.Would work with AI as it works now (so for PvE and clearing camps, no changes).Still useful in close combat if used well, but best as a avoiding combat at range where it's harder to hit someone option. You know, evading like the word EVADE implies.

The changes are fine,the only ones opposing them are the very same people that caused them to begin with.If there wasn't that many trashsquads focusing on how to grief people without contributing to their team there wouldn't be a need for this to happen.

the 'trashsquads not contributing to their team' are not negatively affected by this change, they still have the safety of superior numbers and can now easier keep onto their marked targets.

Yeah but at least won't find them stealthres spamming right outside an enemy objective anymore.THAT is a huge improvement by itself.
