Disconnects / Crashes after 11/13/2018 Update [merged]

I have an iMac 27" Retina computer. I have Windows 10 installed on a Boot Camp partition. The computer has 40GB of memory and a 2TB drive with an AMD Radeon R9 359X card with 4GB of memory. I run with medium graphics settings.

The Guild Wars Mac client and PC clients both crash on a regular basis. The reason for the crash on either platform is a null reference exception. I always report the errors. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the game, which was an incantation recommended by some players with similar problems. It hasn't helped in my case.

Is there a work around or set of settings that will reduce the occurrences of these exceptions? I love the game but it becomes unplayable when at seemingly random times a crash occurs.

My display resolution in Guild Wars is set to 2560x1440.

You probably already know about this but game seems to be crashing/disconnecting/rolling back for everyone. Thread for everyone to pile onto.

Thank you, ANet! Unlocked the Desert King Throne, got disconnected, reconnected, all progress gone, Throne no longer unlocked. :-1:.

Hopefully this will be fixed soon because the continual disconnects are rather annoying.

Once I loaded the new patch I keep getting disconnected.

Game = completely unstable. Cannot do much of anything, and each "crash" seems to rollback everything you do.

Same + I got ported back to the last map I was at. I tried porting to LA and other cities but I end up back in Desert Highlands every time.

Edit: I mean there is the saying : Never play on Patchday. I guess it's not there for nothing :D

Okay, disconnects are now frequent. Every 10-30 seconds.

Yeah yeah, no news there. Just very annoying to see this happen every single time. Never had it this bad, though.

Good thing I didn't buy anything from the Gem Store yet. Would have been reverted, too.

It happens to me if I try to log into any of my characters in LA, and then it resets anything I've done on them! :( So sad.

Got d/c'd and now I'm unable to load onto any toons.

Can confirm that this seem to happen in atleast Wayfarer Foothills, was doing random hearts and exploration and got DCed and progression reverted, this happend more then once.

Indeed. I was so excited about this update, now I am just p***ed. If others are able now to buy resources needed for the new mechanics cheap, while I can't, and then see them skyrocket by tomorrow, I am going to cry.

This is happening to everyone on the server, there is some action that someone does that causes the whole server to crash and roll everyone back. I have found if you can get to a instance (your home, GH or something) you will be safe unless you do the action causing the server to cash. I am trying to figure out what it is.

Crashes every 2 minutes.
