Purpose:New VIP area that will serve to highlight the leader boards of Guild Wars 2's many Races (and Adventures), thereby giving competitive players a means to show off their best times/scores, while also giving new life to past Adventure content.

Features:

  • Crafting stations, Black Lion Trading Post, Bank Access, standard Merchants
  • NPC racers (e.g. Lunatic Racer Nellermoe, Bruce Junior, Gourdon, Uttakkt, Mystery Racer "F", etc.) enter and leave the zone
  • A giant scoreboard that will show up-to-date leaderboards of the available Adventures, including a button to "Show Me," which highlights the Adventure location.
  • A smaller scoreboard that features three random daily Adventures from each Tyria, HoT, and PoF to encourage players to beat the daily high scores.
  • A line of parked Charr bikes as the ultimate tease

Theme and Aesthetics:The Pitstop is built with Iron Legion architecture, with some Aetherblade and Inquest technology jerry rigged here and there. Heavy metal music plays in the background.

Background:Nurr & Brokenring's Pitstop is a dive bar frequented by racers far and wide. The who's who of speedways and high scores gather to toast, boast, and (hopefully) start a bar brawl. The bar is built by Darinka Brokenring (Centurion, Iron Legion, retired) after a Separatist mine took out her right leg. Her former warband, the Ember Ring, have their special seats by the bar (and some steel pipes for any clueless sod that dares warm those seats for them), with their battle-worn Charr bikes frequently seen parked outside the bar. While Darinka can still rides her custom Charr bike thanks to her Aetherblade prosthesis, she herself has hung up her racing goggles above the bar, preferring to pass her time as a bartender, and occasional bouncer.

The bar's co-owner is former Inquest/Aetherblade/Mist Privateer Nurr. In a not-so-elaborate scheme of laundering stolen appropriated property, Nurr was the Pitstop's first and only investor. Nurr met his latest business partner while helping an Aetherblade krewe make a (non-tax deductible) charitable donation to his own private enterprise, at the same time successfully negotiating a prosthesis transplant for Darinka. Deciding it was a sound insurance policy to lie low among a battle-hardened Charr warband and their ilk, Nurr now spends his days as the Pitstop's chemist and moonshine brewer.
