Pepperseed

Does Pepperseed just materialize before her quests (wherever she starts), or is there a place she loiters while not questing?

Pepperseed is male, and he materializes west of where the Branded Forgotten spawns. Escort him to the camp first, then go kill the Forgotten so that the Exalted will come to the camp and help during the second part of the event (the one with the crates that is supposed to give you the achievement).

Haven't managed the achievement yet and don't know what I was doing wrong. Do you have to get the supplies that you pick up to the dolyak? I thought just picking one up, dropping it, then picking up the next would suffice?

I haven't seen Pepperseed spawn at all been waiting at the spot where he is supposed to be, but nothing over an hour.

Grab every supply box you see and interact with the dolyak. You should get a tracking buff during the event so that you know how many boxes you delivered to the dolyak. I think I got the achievement at 8.

There was 2 spawn locations during the escort, 4 boxes at each location and a fight at each location. I had to target the doylak during the first fight because there were so many people, enemies and clutter around it it was hard to track. I think you can drop the boxes after the fights as well but not sure and better to be safe than sorry.

Ah, so you DO have to interact with the Dolyak. Well, that would be easier if it wasn't constantly "merged" with Pepperseed, as in standing in his character model and therefore difficult to target. :angry:

Last question: Do you have to participate in the first escort to the camp to be eligible for the achievement?

I finally got this today when a kind commander called it out in chat. While I had done the first escort twice before and the second time might have been during this reset period, so I can't 100% say you needn't do it, today I joined just as the first ambush happened and was able to return all five supplies there. I had no problem at all running to the dolyak and pressing F -- perhaps Pepperseed wasn't as close in this run. I got the three supplies at the second ambush in the nick of time (assuming you need to do it before the attackers all die, which might not be correct), since being in combat made it take a while before I could mount up to get up to the final one, and the moment I turned in the 3rd one there for 8 total the achieve proc'd.

As the achieve is just for turning in 8 supplies you probably needn't worry about the first escort other that making sure Pepperseed makes it there in order to eventually spawn the second one. Note: Dulfy's "a few minutes" wait for the second one is more like 15 to 20 minutes if not more. On my first try we hung around a long time and ended up escorting him out mid-barricades-assault. On my second try it never spawned, a whole barricades event happened, and folks decided it was bugged and gave up.

You don't need to get the supplies to the dolyak while the attackers are alive, just need to get them before the event completes. I had to chase the dolyak down after the second ambush since the boxes were all up a cliff and I was stuck in combat.

But what do you mean by "get them"? If you interact with a supply crate, you are holding it in your hands. What do you do with it then? Drop it?

Well, it is bugged again today on the only active EU map. We killed the Branded Forgotten and the Exalted came to join us at the camp. However, she remains inert and Pepperseed is cowering in fear, while his dolyak is stuck in the supply collector. No progress possible. :/

When you get close to the doly with a crate, you get an 'F' interaction with the doly to 'resupply the doly'. So press F, and you give the crate to the doly, and go run and get another crate till they're gone.

That's why someone else (upstream) mentioned it was a pain sometimes when the doly was standing right on Pepper, because you might get his interaction instead of the doly's.

What is interesting is we 'know' they have a proximity mechanic. Like when you pick up mines, you can be mounted or not and just walk over them and you have a mine. Or when you drop off oil after cleaning, you just walk to the item. While I can't think of examples off the top of my head, I'm sure there were times when you just had to get near an NPC to trigger/finish something.

Still didn't manage to find any Pepperseed. Checked the whole path from start till end and nothing. Meanwhile did meta's/skritt event (twice) saw warma event... no Pepperseed tho :/

Have you been to his first spawn point where you need to pick him up for the first escort of the event chain?

Positive. I have been looking for him with a group that was in lfg and in same map and neither of us found it. Been at both points Dulfy shows and all in between where event should run through.

Read somewhere that it can take between 20 and 30 minutes for any of the spawns at worst. Other than that, I wish I could help you but have no idea what might be causing it.

A little update: I finally got the achievement today. Someone in map was so nice to yell in map chat that Pepperseed was up. Between 1st and 2nd event it was about 5 minutes wait (or less). If it may be of some help, Pepperseed spawned at around 16.30 hour (CET) and the 2nd event started just before the North meta started.

It's a very easy achievement, you just have to spot a crate and bring it to the very visible dolyak, like shown in this screenshot. Easy peasy. If you have more than 3 fps it helps a bit.

The hardest part seems to be starting the event/finding the darn NPC.Being camping both locations for two days now. No lucklater edit. started finally but on another map instance.

Wait, that means its possible to give the supplies to Pepperseed and not the Dolyak? I just resupply and pressed the interact button. That may explain why I didn't get the achievement today. I returned 8 supplies but nothing happened.

Not that I'm aware of, but you can just drop them after having picked them up, and that definitely ruins the achievement run.

Pepperseed has more spawn points for his first escort than the one listed on dulfy. Ive found him right next to the vista west of hundar pike.

I finally got the achievement; For anyone still wondering, Pepperseed (Zephyrite human) spawns SW of ironbridge POI.
The first escort event you take Pepperseed down to the Saida's place, you have to talk to him to start the event.Once there, if you have not completed Saida's heartquest, you can talk to her to check the status of Pepperseed's meta event.Pepper won't start moving for the second (achievement) escort UNTIL you help the Exalted liberate her branded friend.
That Exalted is up on the cliffs to the west of Saida's place. Help the Exalted (group event).Then head back to Saida's place and go south from the heart quest, you'll see several dolyaks and zephyrites.
Wait for Pepperseed to appear, normally takes him 5 minutes.
If you think you missed something talk to Saida to check the event progress (if you have not completed the heart quest).

Two people on the map helped me figure this out, thanks to them as well :D. I hope this info helps people who were also stuck.

Yes, you have to help the Exalted, as mentioned in previous posts, because she is the one who will teach him courage. He needs that courage to take on the journey ahead that leads him through hordes of Branded. :)
