Anybody else annoyed by loot chests trolling lately?

With the introduction of novelties, players trolling loot chests, important NPC’s, etc. with placeable objects has increased. In some AB metas, TD metas, Palawadan metas, etc., some trolls are placing novelties, merchants, guild banners, mesmer portals and stuff on top of loot chests. Some of the novelty effects don’t seem like they can be turned off, so players are forced to put up with the horrible effects and annoying sounds until they leave the map. With dozens of players, it’s not even possible to know who placed these so reporting is out of the question. With immunity, these pathetic trolls are really abusing this.

I really wish Anet will make it so that these can’t be placed on top of important objects. If that’s too much work, then make loot chests or other important objects have much bigger interaction range, or give them interaction priority over novelties, portals, etc. Option for auto opening chests if player stays still on top of chests, or a different hotkey for interacting with player placed objects would also work. Another option is give players option to disable interation with other players’ novelties, merchants, etc.

I haven't play any HOT meta for months one reason is in AB when you defeat Tarnished Traitor and you want to res other players and get your chest and you get teleportedMesmer portals is the most annoying thing

I had this only once or twice after TD meta, but to counteract this: just walk up to the opject, see what the F button does and if it is the wrong one - here the gizmo or foodplate etc. - just LEFT click with the mouse on the correct object until you see the F button doing something other.

I did it once by accident, or unintended of the grief. Popped an achievement box and got a box’o’fun. Naturally, i dropped that thing right where I stood, because destroying it would require me to type out the full name.Why we even that trash I dunno

It seems to be less of an issue lately. I was wondering if Anet did a stealth fix.

I've never encountered this, although I've seen people complain about it before. If they could make a fix to forbid placement on top of built-in interactive items that would make sense to me. There's no legitimate reason to place them on top.

This has been a thing since the game came out. Loot chests, banners, food platters...anything you can put down people use to troll. It happens. Working as intended.

I’ve had a merchant spawn right on top of the meta reward chest in TD which as someone in map chat stated could have come from someone who was using that boost which spawns a merchant when their inventory is full.

I was not able to interact with the reward chest and by the time the merchant despawned so had the chest.

No one is saying it's not working as intended. They are saying the intended design is poor and needs to be addressed.

it's been like this forever, the novelties are still ok since there's only 1 and can easily mouse over the loot chest

Not 100% tpoic related but it's been a question in my head for like forever: How do you report griefing or any sort lof this behaviour? I just want to know if I always hit the right section whenever I've reported the idiots doing this.
