[POLL] Would you change your character's race?

If there was such possibility, would you change your character's race, for example from human to asura?

would be cool if we were able to change race for a day to try it , yeah u can create a new char and go to pvp lodge but still...

I probably wouldn't but I am a bit surprised that they haven't added a Gem shop item which enabled this. Probably some issues with backstory/personal story lines etc that stops them from doing it, otherwise I'm pretty sure we'd seen a highly priced Gem option by now!

Nope. Not on any. I grow attached too easily. Even just changing their hair color after having them a while doesn't make them feel the same.

Yes I'd very much like a race change

I want to switch my ranger to a human but don't feel like doing map exploration and everything again on him.

maybe it's for the best I used to spend a lot of money on race changes in WoW

I want to be Asura now but I refuse to redo map completion!

Yes, I immediately would use a race change if one were finally added (even if it reset personal story progress as a result).

I have 5 female human characters that I haven't played since they changed their running animation to the current wobbling brick some years ago. They've all been mules for years now and only serve as storage (mainly bags full of hundreds of stacks of exotic luck essence that I cannot use for anything yet) and for birthday gifts.

A race change would allow me to be able to use those character slots for actual playing again, as well as lead to my purchasing name change contracts, makeover kits and re-gearing and outfitting a couple of them.

No. All the non-human races look ridiculous.

Not for my existing characters, but I'd like to have the option. In case they ever get around to adding new races, for instance.

If I wanted a race change I would just make a new char.Too many things tied to race so they will not do it as it would take too much dev time, they already said this.

Basically, almost half ppl would like to change it. But I guess it could mess things up better than changing the race in Skyrim after a while.

No, it would mess up too much with personal story. But I would like an option to make temporary changes, just for cosmatic reasons to show how it looks like.

Weirdly enough, the only race i don't find 'awkward' in this game is Asura. I tested all races/genders combo's before submitting to main characters and Asura came out on top... female ones at that.

I wouldn't use it. I spend a lot of time planning my characters, I have a hard time finding uses for makeover kits I get free because changing my characters faces looks weird to me. I did use one on my charr because none of the default faces were quite right, but most of them I just use to give new hairstyles to alts.

So to change their race...I'd have to want to delete a character at the same time I want to make a new one AND want to skip levelling the new one. I can't see that happening.

But I wouldn't be opposed to other people having that option.

Apart from the PS, what difference would it make? And if you changed part way through ir,would you need to restart it given your new race?

Oh, and I would never, ever - and I mean NEVER EVER - be turned into an Asura. That would be... horrific.

I was thinking about it for 3 years when I was still a male norn mesmer, now I'm female. Was always thinking of asura tho :P

Currently? No... but in the past I would of but instead had to get an extra character slot to remake my Asura Elementalist into a Sylvari and my Charr Engineer into a Human without losing their Bdayz.

Actually all of my characters are humans and that's why I'd like to change them - because they're boring. In Guild Wars everyone wanted to have another playable race, and now when we have them in Guild Wars 2 most people keep playing human race.

Although I have to say... most skins are made especially for humans, they look like trash on other races.

Should a future expansion add Tengo as a playable race, i would change in a heartbeat. Though I can understand why a race change has been implemented before. Racial living story, cultural armour. It cold cause complications.

If Anet ever thinks about adding a new race, they should consider adding a race-changer as well.

Interesting. I had thought race changing to be more popular. Personally I would only do it for a couple of characters but it's not a must or anything.

Yes! I have a human mesmer, can't really get the feel for her. Rolled a Asura mesmer for HoT Beta and for some reason it was way more fun to play. I guess I could use the lvl 80 scroll I got with PoF, we'll see...

I have enough character slots to have made at least one of each race & gender for each. Almost at the point of enough for one of each profession too. I've always said, if you take into account a total makeover kit & name change contract (if you need to switch the name for lore reasons and not give an Asura a Charr name for example) the cost would probably be cheaper to get a character expansion slot rather than a race change kit if ever it were in the gem store.

No, I know from character creation what i want my characters to be and I'm satisfied with how all of them have turned out. I don't see any harm in one being added though.
