I wanted to compare the Boon removal of the spellbreaker to the boon corruption of the necromancer.

Full Counter Vs. Death Shroud

Full Counter: absorbs damage for 1.5 sec. Does not prevent condition damage unless traited with revenge counter.Death Shroud: absorbs damage for as long as the necromancer has lifeforce. Absorbs condition damage as well as physical damage.

Boon Removal Vs. Boon Corruption

Breaching Strike: Remove 2 boon. 8 sec CD. (6.5 sec with trait)Break Enchantment: Remove 2 boon. 15 sec CD.Winds of Disenchantment: Remove 2 boon per sec for 10 sec. 90 sec CD.

Dispelling Force: 1 Boom removal on disable.Enchantment Collapse: +1 Boon removal to boon removal skills for up to 5 targets.

Nefarious Favor: Convert 2 boon into condition. 5 sec CD.Dark Path (with Path of Corruption trait): Convert 2 boon into condition. 10 sec CD. (8 sec with trait)Unholy Feast: Convert 2 boon into condition. 12 sec CD. (9.5 sec with trait)Corrupt Boon: Convert 3 boon into condition. 15 sec CD. (10 sec with trait)Spinal Shivers: Remove 3 boon. (16 sec with trait)Sand Flare: Convert 2 boon into 2 torment & 2 cripple. 25 sec CD. (20 sec with trait)Trail of Anguish: Convert 1 boon into 1 torment & 1 cripple for 6 sec. 25 sec CD. (20 sec with trait)Serpent Siphon: Convert 1 boon into 1 torment & 1 cripple. 30 sec CD. (20 sec with trait)Sand Swell: Convert 1 boon into 1 torment & 1 cripple for 8 sec. 35 sec CD. (24 sec with trait)Well of Corruption: Convert 1 boon into condition per sec for 5 sec. 40 sec CD. (32 sec with trait)Ghastly Breach: Convert 1 boon into 1 torment & 1 cripple per sec for 5 sec. 75 sec CD. (60 sec with trait)

Chill of Death: Spinal Shiver on enemy below 50% health. (Remove 3 boon. Deal extra damage for every boon.)Unending Corruption: 1 Boon converted to condition per target for up to 5 target. No Cooldown. Activate for every shade.Feed from Corruption: When you remove or corrupt a boon from an enemy, gain that boon.

Why would you want a spellbreaker on your team removing boons when a necromancer on your team could be turning them into conditions? Why would you want a spellbreaker on your team removing boons when a Scourge on your team could not only remove the boon, but also change it into condition and also gain the boon for themselves.

Necromaners have been spellbreakers before spellbreakers were born. Not only can we break spells but also turn them into curse and use them for ourselves.

Warrior: SpellbreakerNecromancer: Spellbreaker, Cursemaker, Spellstealer

Play the real spellbreaker.

The only thing that spellbreaker has that gives them a fighting chance in this comparison is the Winds of Disenchantment.

But you could just use Well of Corruption boosted with traits for something to similar effect.

The only time a boon removal spellbreaker would be more useful than a boon corruption necromancer is when the enemy also has boon corruption necromancer. But that situation is easily averted by having the corruptomencer on your team play skillfully and bait out the converts from the enemy before using the corruption skills himself.

Ya I said Spellbreaker needed a rework before release because of this overlap but it didn't really matter what anyone said anyhow. Truth be told though, most Necromancers only care about doing big Condi numbers not actually corrupting boons. So many of them just backline spam marks on recharge, which is funny because they also ask for boon corruption to be added to marks...

My idea was for Spellbreaker's to get a unique debuff attached to their skills that would stack in intensity, reducing the effectiveness of boons on that foe.
