snh.7091
The tooltip of this skill says:Your pet rushes at your foe, revealing them and dealing increased damage.(10s): 40% Damage, 40% Movement SpeedRevealed (6s): You cannot stealthRange: 2,000This is one of the reasons Soulbeasts are broken with extreme damage output on very low cooldowns. According to the skill's description the 40% damage multiplier should only be applied to one's pet, but when a Soulbeast merges with their pet that damage amplification is applied to the host, giving them the luxury of one-shotting people.I am not sure is this intended with the specialisation, but given the tool tip I assume no, thus should be adjusted accordingly. This skill should not apply its bonus to the host once they merge with their pet.I tested it with an NPC in WvW, the results were:18k burst on skill 2 without24k burst on skill 2 with
Shikigami.4013
Wiki: https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Beastmode""Sic 'Em!" Applies Sic 'Em! effect to the player. "Changing how skills work when in beast mode and making the player character stronger when he merges with his pet (and thus gives up pet damage) is the design of the class. Your exaggerated text suggests that the real purpose of this "bug report" is to vent anger towards the soulbeast class, or at least towards a well-known mechanic that has been working like this for more than a year - and not even undocumented. Your immediate assumptions that I come here to vent are deeply inappropriate and incorrect.I felt like I needed to report this because a) tool tip clearly states this is pet only, b) Soulbeasts are already extremely OP in the current META, and features like this do no good to the health of the game, particularly PvP modes. The massive power creep is one of the reasons for much of the discontent and frustration of players.
Shikigami.4013
Every skill that would have an effect on the ranger pet obviously has to do something else than its normal tooltip when the pet is not around due to a merge to enter beastmode. Otherwise those skills would be either useless, or at least broken for the soulbeast class. This is the case for weapon skills, utility skills and even traits which have an effect on the pet. If beastmode is active, the skill/trait changes its effect from its regular tooltip. As "Sic Em" is just one of a total of 15 different ranger skills that all get changed each time a soulbeast merges without the tooltip changing too, I supposed someone who even checked the mechanic for himself with a soulbeast character would know this, but it appears I was wrong so I retract my assumption ;)
