Gorkus.7496
The elementalist trait cleansing wave's description says, 'Remove conditions from nearby allies when attuning to water, ' while the weaver cleansing wave skill description reads, 'Heal yourself and nearby allies, curing conditions.' So, does the trait only work on allies or does it also work on the player's character like the skill? I guess I could try it out in the game and see, but I like asking you all silly little questions, plus it keeps the board active.
Steve The Cynic.3217
This is one of a number of cases where a trait can fire an automatic skill that has the same name as an actual skill, but the effects of the trait's version are not the same as the effects of the real skill. (Consider "Shake it off!" for Warriors, for example.)
Khisanth.2948
Wording on things aren't all that reliable but in most cases "allies" means you and other people. There are cases where it is mechanically impossible to include the user in "allies" such as https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Cleansing_Flame and https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Fumigate because you can't stand in the cone of your own skill's effect.
