  • Revamp Side Stories, I've been trying to do some of them and there is no-one doing them. For example Conservation of Magic solo is pretty hard.

    Do something with sidestories, it can make the PvE side more attractive and active. Instead of doing the Meta's over and over and over and over. Which makes me quit GW2 every few weeks. Because I get bored, because there's nothing else for me to do, no goal I can achieve. Grinding doesn't do it for me.

  • Very exciting!! I think this is a great idea as it keeps it very lively. Great opportunities to play even more with friends and guildmates instead of solo grinds.

    Chicken Run in WvW. Go out of the gate from your Keep, get transformed into a chicken, try to make it to a determined objective.

    Hm, removing daily limits doesn't sound like a good idea to me...

    • for the entire week people will probably just spam bosses/metas, world boss grind basically
    • those items won't be as special anymore if people will have a million chances to get them
    • there will be less players to do other content with
    • everyone having an equal chance at loot once a day per boss would be optimal and the most rewarding even for those who have limited play time (even the alt account spamming should be addressed somehow)

    Also, idk why you're focusing on bosses and metas, those are done regularly.
    Dungeons on the other hand, for example, are completely abandoned, playing for over 2 months and barely tried a few...

    Yep, this will 100% happen. During these events these will become the new "24/7 farms". That is something no game should shrive to do. If the bosses are worth doing there will always be someone doing it at any hour.

    I assume this is referring to the Meta Boss Rush that will be happening a few weeks after the World Boss event. The infusions have a insanely low drop rate so these special bonus events won't even put a dent in them. The only thing it will do is force players to do those events 24/7 to maximize their chances.

    This has happened so many times. Auric Basin Multi map abuse, Istan Meta/Champ farm abuse, SW, etc. If something is too good players will flock to it and do it as much as they can and nothing else.

    And this is where I don't get it. A easy fix to all of this would be to double/triple the loot of World Bosses/Meta Bosses and keep the cap. That way players can do them once a day and go back to other content. They're not forced to do those events 24/7 until the event ends to maximize their rewards. It takes away the players choice in the game. Add in you're going to see a ton of players try to abuse World Bosses/Meta with multi map squads. It pains me but during these events we're going to see the worst of the community come out.

    ATM Star Trek Online is doing this log in daily and complete a specific mission thing to get a free T6 ship which is usually something you need to invest in the in game store to do.
    I'm just wondering if Anet would consider doing something similar, Do a PoF daily achievement event or something that if you manage to log in every day and complete your dailes for the whole month then your big reward at the end would be a single free mount licence skin of your choice.

    Just an idea.. but I think offering gem store items as special rewards like that would be good insentive.
    It would also kinda revive the old Monthly achievement thing which a lot of us kinda miss tbh ^^

  • Maybe some open world bounty hunt? Like a world bosses, but it has a path like world bosses and require to be found first? (announced in LA at specific time, and people will massively zone into the map and have to work map-wise to find it? Maybe even a lil pre-event(chain?) when the boss is found and activated?

    This has probably been asked, but can I farm these events all day on 1 character and still get the rewards, or do I need to swap characters at some point?

    I was doing alot of world bosses and metas sadly especially after PoF its not worth it, value of mats got halved - value of gems got almost doubled. Its why i support so much legendary weapons and other craftables not so much to own it but they revive the economy - some buy gems and sell for gold other use gold directly, in both ways it lowers the gems value and increases the mats value, and thats whats going to help participations not only in world bosses but in all game modes (everthing new right now just get tossed on gem store).

    Im still very happy for the event, gw2 really needs those weekly events sadly i dont see it very beneficial or fun except the first time.

    To bad that this is not going to amount to anything except for maybe Teq. and TT. The meta in AB essentially already doesn't have a daily limit but the drop rate of vial of liquid aurillium is so low that it doesn't make a difference regardless. Same with the meta in TD, give out the daily box every 2 hours and the chance of getting a chak egg sac is still "0".   • Who has the various and sundry books, tomes, journals, and such collected during the story journeys and adventures spanning the world of Tyria? Who hates these collected books taking up space in their inventory? Who hates destroying these books to save inventory space. Who would like to have a library in their home instance (or some other device) to store and retrieve in-game books collected during the course of playing the game? Me, for one.

    As useful as it is, it isn't accurate. It doesn't list all applicable ones. So far it has skipped Jormag and Tequatl. It may have missed Karka too - I didn't pay attention to that one.

    The next time Jormag came round it appeared in the box so it's clearly picking and choosing what to display

    Its really depressing as a player that a dev thinks swapping maps to get loot multiple times from a boss/meta isn't abuse within the game. It might not be on par with AB MM abuse since all you had to do is show up for loot but its still bad. It also promotes that this is how bosses should be handled and teaches players bad habits. We have so many new players and this will be their first experience with events/bosses and all they will learn is how to abuse game mechanics with multi mapping. These events are meant to be a Bonus but currently Anet is just making another 24/7 farm.

    doesnt work. Great Jungle Worm did not drop a chest the 2nd time after 7pm.
    Behemoth is the 2nd boss that cicle again. We will see.

    if that is all. 1 ore, 1 wood and 1 cloth in one chest. then i will not play this event any longer.

    I was just hoping for a few t6s ... opened 10, got 0.

    At least I know I can safely ignore this without missing out on anything.

    Are there any achievement points for killing these bosses the first time. I know tequatal and triple wyrm do. How about the other bosses?

    If so, where can I look at which bosses I have not completed yet in the achievement tab?

    For tequatal and triple wyrm, I'm well aware of the core mastery points and achievement points awarded as I completed them.

    The event is designed so that you can kill as many bosses as you want for as many bonus boxes as you want. Calling it "multi-loot" is a misunderstanding of what the "multi-loot" bug was. This requires (if it doesn't we will fix it) that you have participated and are present for the finalization of the boss event to get bonus loot.

    Understood. I just assumed that the increased frequency of obtaining chests would have been an issue but thank you for the clarification.

    This event is a scam. 1 basic mat x3 is just stupid

    It's kinda disgusting how much people are trying to farm this...
    There's like 2 dozen squads/mentor squads at each boss just so they can get credit for kill on multiple instances.
    I think I'm done with this farm fest for good (can't even call it an event anymore at this point)

    It's making all other forms of PvE farms not something you can do as the entire player base is doing nothing but World Bosses. I don't find WBs fun so my fun is very diminished during this bonus event. I'm sure there are other players who feel the same way.

    This event lasts a week long so that's a very, very long time to have my fun diminished.

    Could you please look into making bonus events in the future not effect the entire player base in such a way? They should be a bonus - not something you can spam all day for a week which kills participation rates in all other farm content.

    The amount of people crying over extra free loot is insane. If you dont like it simply dont do the events. These are not made to please everyone. These events are perfect for someone who is trying to make their first legendary and need the large amount of lower end mats.

    Yes I do, I just keep gw2 in the background while playing other games and just alt tab to gw2 when a boss is about to start. Free easy mats for me. Beats running around farming.

    Bottom line is.. the event isn't really for the players benefit.. it's to keep players in game longer while LS is still being finished and the gap between releases grows. Players get bored easy when new content is scarce for long periods.. this event is aimed at helping curb as much of the drop off as the gap grows.
    Can't even relate this to a welcome back/new player boost because it was this very kind of loot train that forced the Queensdale train etc to be curbed a whiles back now.
    I mean let's be honest for what you get 99.9999999% of the time from the bonus chest you could actually get within a few seconds from salvaging a green or a blue from an openwolrd kill without the necessity to demonstrate how bad the servers are at handling large scale boss fights before the skill lag hits.
    The only plus is the fact there is the tinniest (and I mean the very, very, very tinniest) chance of getting a little infusion - which we all know is going to be extremely few and far between.

    Considering how limited the amount of boxes that you can get per hour is, T6 mats should have been in the common section. That way, it would have indeed felt like a nice bonus, but as it is now the additional rewards arent worth mentioning.

    Also, remember that we had similar boxes during the zephyrite festival. People were able to open stacks over stacks of them and hardly anyone got one of those valuable infusions. So dont expect do get anything now, where you arent even able to open a great number of them.

    World boss box still only 1 per day, repeat kills only give the event loot box.
    Probably not worth considering the painful low drop rates of good items and high amount of useless items that are worth nothing lol.
    Opened 13 boxes and did not get a single T6 mat. Mostly T1-2-3.
    Unfortunate.

    Played a couple of world bosses today. While I realize this in no way constitutes a good sample size, the rewards were no better than before. And there were so many players that I rapidly got motion sickness and a headache. Not worth the time to me, but if others enjoy it, great.

    I don't understand why people cry so much about "multi-loot" abusing. The boxes are not worth it in terms on spent time vs rewards. Yeah you can have really good luck and got an infusion, but that's really weird. If you can loot more than one, what's wrong? This isn't as abussive as Tarir was.

    what? are u serious with this?

    the event was promoted different. time/gold camping bosses after 1 round isnt worth it.
    the bonus chest are a joke and hoping for the lottery drop isnt worth in this game.
    Seeing this leaves my hope for the next events. Especially the fractals.

    i think no ones wants everything on the first day. But the items in that bonus chest are pointless.
    i can gather everything faster random clicking a wp on the world map and gather everything for 1 minute.

    i'm disappointed. sounds good but it's worthless.

    I think many people forget that you get a guaranteed rare item with each box, which is essentially the same reward you get from killing a boss in the first place. It's not that bad on repeat, but eh. If you don't care about the rare items then no reason to do it.

  • i'm disappointed too for the rewards , even the super rare got poly cheap infusions , no mention how many times you do bosses i dont think you will make even 1k boxes in 1 week + RNG won't help too , the event sounds good but its not that good in terms of rewards RNG

    There is a "Bosses" achievement category in the same area as Teq and TT ach categories, but they tend to be more complicated than just "beat the boss", and it only covers a subset. Still probably a good time to go for it.

    Revamped shatterer also has an achievement category.

    Would it be possible to have the Bonus Box of Goods become a permanent weekend event? Increase the bosses' damage output and reduce the stack cap for conditions only for weekends, please.

    Yeah, I got a Piece of Rare Unidentified Gear from almost every box. I only did 4 World Bosses and ended up with 15 Rare Unids, 5 Rare pieces of (identified) gear, and 1 Exotic weapon. Plus lots of Green and Blue Unids, and lots of mats. Oh, and 4 trophies.

    Anyone that doesn't want the Rare Unids from the Bonus Box of Goods can send them to me; I'll happily take them off your hands. =)

    In other words this event isn't for world bosses, it's for TIMER world bosses.

    Not all world bosses were added to the timer when it was made, and this was even brought up by the announcement. IIRC, the reasoning was that you didn't want everything on a timer.

    It's a real shame that those other world bosses (even if it were just Orrian temples) didn't get the bonus boxes.

    I think this event has also highlighted just how much every world boss needs some adjustments for things like scaling and interesting. Maybe not the level Tequatl or The Shatterer got, though. Maybe closer to what the Shadow Behemoth got.

    For an individual there is simply no reason to try because the chances to get a super rare items are non-existent and there is nothing else worth the time.
    Even T6 mats are too rare.
