No Mist Shard or Blooming Armor Collection...?

Recommended Posts

I know anet doesn't really ever add things ex-post-facto or whatever, but they should really add a collection with AP and a title or something for the new Armor Sets... While obviously these aren't as pricey as their previous counterparts, adding a somewhat grindy collection keeps people coming back to the map. Sure, the meta is rewarding enough and we have a 5 day time gate... But you'd think like with all the effort that they clearly put into this map, they'd want to add all the incentive they could to keep it active.

Guess it didn't deserve one considering how ugly their upgraded versions are.I'm glad that I am not the only person who views the "upgraded" versions of the new armor skins as downgrades. I don't mind crystal spikes, but would a little bit of symmetry hurt them any? Also, the medium armor skin looks like it has toilet paper hanging from the back of its pants.

They're so much less shiny too... Which is weird cuz hey have glowing crystals on them.

The reason they don't add achievements for some things is to avoid adding pressure. This makes them truly "cosmetic only." So the quests for unlocking heroic dragonsblood weapons are achievements; actually crafting them is not. This seems similar.

I ended up with about 150 after buying this or that and just running around, completing story on one toon, most of the map on another (in service of the skyscale scavenger hunts, which I haven't completed).

So it's a lot; it just doesn't seem particular more onerous than any past map collections... except, well, for a change, I miss the option of doing a brain-dead heart for mats on multiple toons.

Too soon for me to offer an informed opinion though. We'll see how I feel next week, after the momentum of a new story has worn off and the "real" acquisition begins.

The time spent doing the long escorts and scaled up collection events to acquire the keys are what makes this more more difficult. Difficulty here being essentially the amount of effort and time needed. If there were hearts, I could easily run a character through all of them within 7-10 minutes. As the other maps typically have out 5 each, that would be significantly faster.

EDIT: Just tracked a full meta. It took 90 minutes to do the entire thing minus the final two bonus bosses as we ran out of time. I got 56 mistborn motes. Had there been hearts in the three locations, and they each gave 5 motes, I would have achieved that many in a third of the time.
