My gut has a feeling that anet wouldn't go through the trouble of programming this system if a Gw2 Br wasnt in the works.Seems a bit too puzzle piece fitting when you look at it upside down. What are you truly planning ?

Secondary professions perhaps...?

I'd be fine with the "secondary profession" concept extending to utility skills only. If traits were included as well, it'd be a balancing nightmare.

If anything this shows that anet could have implemented cross classing like gw1 from the beginning.

In gw1, there was a class specific trait for each primary class that couldn't be accessed on your secondary. So you would only get the skill and have no bonus from trait boost to that skill. Which would be fine again in gw2.

They have the frame work for doing this with the specialization trait line.

Either add a 4th "trait line" or a sub class trait icon that allows access to ONLY the skills and does not allow benefits like increase/decrease recharge times or increase charges or increase damage.

Anything but a 4th trait line! x.x Because I know I'd totally just use said line for my original profession and would create an unstoppable force with no trade-offs.

It is far from cross classing. The stolen skills are actually a transformation with hardcoded heal/utillity and elite skills.

The event has also shown to have gamebreaking bugs with the stolen skill transformations allowing holismiths to run 2 sets of heal/utillity and elite skills and the cooldown resetting so they can have permanent evade, spam long cooldown skills etc.

Easily avoided by Anet if you can only choose from the secondary profession as the 4th traitline.

Well, again. As long as it does nothing more than allow you to choose other utility skills while excluding actual trait choices, sure!
