Legendaries [suggestion]

Have lower grade legendaries that have lesser graphical qualities but are much easier to get.

    and why should legendary be easily accessible, they are not so accessible because of the huge QoL benefit it provides, and helps with flushing out gold and materials out from the economy

    As well as precursors isn't that basically what all the 'mystic forge weapons' like Whisper Blade, The Anomaly, Infinite Light, and Mjölnir are? Each one has a unique skin, usually with some special effects, and is created via a small collection (not tracked in the achievement panel).

    Some of the Gem Store skins might fit the bill as well: Equinox, Frostforged, and Arcane Marksman for example.

    Or are you looking for something else? You didn't really state what qualities you hope for.

    Nope, a long term goal is a long term goal. If you don't want to do the "thing" you don't deserve the reward.

    If you want X, and Y is needed to get get X, you also have to want Y if you really want X. If you don't want Y, you don't want X. It's easy.

    Farming Gen 1 Legendary weapons is not that hard to do...
    They are WAY cheaper to straight up get than Gen 2 as well...
    Hell ANET made it easy for those who don't want to work for it. Those who don't wana chip their finger nails and earn it.

    Method A:
    (1) Go steal your moms credit card and swipe it once or twice and convert the gems to gold.
    You're looking at about $150 USD maybe 200 on a couple
    (2) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    Method B:
    (1) Craft the precursor
    (2) Buy the mats and make it
    (3) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    Method C:
    (1) Buy the precursor
    (2) Earn the mats and make it
    (3) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    Method D :
    (1) Get Good at PvP and hope that Anet remembers to care to do a special tournament so you can win one
    (2) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    Method E:
    (1) Enter the raffle at GW2 Efficiency when they have a legendary to give away, hope you're luck.
    (2) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    Method F:
    (1) Go Kitten yourself off to a rich person who will be your Sugar Charr and buy you one.
    (2) Spam it in map chat and brag about how you spent so much time making it

    TDLR:
    No, Hell No, Too EZ to get as it is.

    So you want to create another rarity of weapon that sits between the Ascended and Legendary? I don't have a problem with that.

    Give it a SINGLE ability from the other Legendary list of fun things (Draw/Stow animation, Footfalls, Aura, or a Skill effect) but not Stat Swapping. The ability to change a weapon's combat abilities without cost should be limited to the Legendary class. Have the animation be chosen as a part of the crafting process.

    Weapon skins come out all the time, so having a new skin is a non-issue and the other animations don't affect game-play at all.

    Only the Stat Swapping ability could possible affect other players, so remove that aspect altogether.

    What is "partial stat swapping?"


    FYI you can get aura swapping now by using an infusion in the weapon. I use it for the flashier infusions for two reasons

    • It's a lot of fun, to pop e.g. the blue face of cosmic or the green hue of polyundulates.
    • It's a helpful visual cue, reminding which weapon set I'm using. (Don't you use hate when your muscle memory does the rotation for /torch, but you are wielding /focus?)

    I wouldn't mind weapons that are already precursors maybe getting a little more flair but other than that, no. There are tons of non-legendaries with somewhat fancy effects already.
