Fire weaver changes

I haven't played for months, but can anyone confirm if that incredibly annoying Fire weaver build (that stacks burning) got buffed big time?

If so, I am out for the next few months too lol

The class got moderately buffed... If you were struggling against fire weaver before, you needed to adapt your playstyle or build. The class was mediocre at best and really only served as a dueler.

I think the biggest change to weaver is that fire weaver will be able to beat holo 1v1 making the class viable. Other than that, fire weaver sucks against scrappers, scourges, and is not great against mirages and firebrands - classes that will most likely dominate the meta

It got traits rearranged and lost a +10% damage major trait. Also, weaver currently has a glitch with its stances not providing stability after lesser stone resonance pops.

Fire weaver usually takes smothering auras for additional condi cleanse so the loss of the +10% damage wont impact it. The move of -20% fire cooldown from a major trait to minor trait is new so fire weaver will benefit from that.

So yes, fire weaver, in the loosest sense of the word, got a single buff in the form of 20% cooldown reduction. Not that it will matter much as a single condi cleanse removes those fire stacks and what a fire weaver is planning to do is revealed by its buff bar.

Confirmed. Anet is really on top of things..

20% CD reduction on fire skills, Burning rage giving 180 condi dmg and proccing 2 burn stacks on fire attune (altho it competes with the condi cleanse trait, so I dont think it will see much play) , primordial stance CD reduction.

Yes, it got buffed alright.but effectively its a very small buff since its only CD reductions on mostly mediocre skills (apart from PS)

It's a buff, but only where you can afford to take Burning Rage, it competes with Smothering Auras. Even in a game with no condition classes there are reasons to run Smothering Auras, thieves provide some serious chill uptime with F2, the weakness and immob procs, Revenants will most likely run Axe offhand post nerf so more chill and slow just like Deathstrike has now. Not even talking about Necro or Mesmer yet.

There are games where you will be running Burning Rage, but the Ranked meta will evolve (CI Mirage is unnerfed) people will swap to it to counter Burning Rage Weavers, and people will stick to Smothering Auras.
