Sword idea

Sword is a Hybrid power/condi weapon. You can build for either. Savage Leap and FInal Thrust both do good power damage. The aa chain and Final Thrust below 50% both do very good bleed damage. If anything Flurry needs a massive overhaul as it is no better than auto attacking. OH Sword... Not that it is used much but both riposte and rip do fairly decent power damage with impale and riposte both applying condi.

If you were going condi though you'd take Berserker and torch as an OH though, and if you were going power you'd take GS or axe/axe.You'd get some mileage out of a core build though with Grieving states and Krait runes.

I vote that the self root is removed, and channel time reduced. That would make it both usable, and better than the auto attack. I am of course open to an entirely new burst...

Galrath Slash? 1 strike, power scaling 1.0, deals 11 stacks of bleed for 8 seconds. Immobilized foes are knocked down for 2s, 3s, 4s based on the number of adrenaline bars spent.

Same overall power, just in one hit instead of 11. Instead of applying immobilize you get a better knockdown effect if they were immobilized. Would give a Core Sword warrior a reason to take Leg Specialist and Opportunist. Would also put some CC on the bar for a core Sword + Longbow warrior.

Yup. 100% agree.

Sword being a condi/power hybrid weapon is fine with me.Sword 2 being a weird leap which sometimes has unexpected yeet ranges, fine with me.Sword 3 being a clunky, slow, stab is fine with me.Sword 4 being a weird little stab and yank, fine with me.Sword 5 being a nice little parry, fine with me.

But that Burst skill.Ooooooo that Burst skill totally invalidates using Sword in anyway, because it feels soooo bad to use.

I mean if it were anything like Blurred Frenzy or Pistolwhip it would have been fine.

But it's a burst skill, which costs adrenaline and doesn't even do respectable amount of damage in anyway.

They should make it into a flurry of jabs with a short leap distance.

Something like, 400 Range would be kinda decent, with 6~11 hits based on Adrenaline, and each inflicting a Bleed.

Like Mother's Rosario from SAO? OOOOHHHH How about making it like rev staff 5 but with the damage split between bleeds and power damage? That would be sexy.Edit: People were so unhappy about the original GS Burst that it got changed. Prior to HoT Flurry at least had a long duration immobilize saving it from being totally useless like Arcing Slice used to be. But with all the condi creep and condi clear creep it is garbage tier like the original Arcing Slice was.

I'd like mh sword 2 to do additional damage and additional bleeding based on distance used from the target. If it hits under 300, then extra power damage and bleeding...

The F1 ON MH SWORD NEEDS TO BE UNROOTED. This is the biggest problem with MH sword right now. Stand in place for 3 seconds in pve or pvp for bleeding? Yeah, not worth the damage you will take.

I'd like to see the immobilize gone, root removed, but add torment every other hit, and cripple every 3rd hit.

What I would LOVE to see with sword F1 would be a mix of weaver fire sword 2 and water sword 2....attack in and heal out...that would be a glorious f1 with possibility to trait for extra damage or healing. You could also equip with warhorn to actually have a usable blast finisher outside of longbow.Plz start working on this ANET...Christmas will be here before you know it.
