Support synergies, Which classes synergy would you love to seE?

We have Chrono/druid
Renevant/Guardian

Warrior for the banner buff
Tempest for the heal and the extra strong protect
Scourge for the Barrier

If Anet made a synergy for every 2 classes to support/heal a team reliably (All professions warrior/necromancer/Engineer/Guardian/etc)
Which classes would you wanna see Synergized together?

Scrapper and a Thief spec would be my pick
Something I would love to see together in combat supporting the team and each other
(Cant really pick a thief spec, even though the daredevil would feel and look great together as a support team)
(the sniper/scrapper combo would also look cool)

  • There is no such synergy between 2 classes. You take classes to cover all nececery boons and buffs. That is it. You can play renegade for alacrity and chrono for quickness.

I don't want synergy. I want modularity so that its easier to make comps while letting people have choice.

Chrono does not have mobile quickness or Alicrity, Firebrand/Renevant do
With the Chrono you have to sit tight on the well of theirs before you get the boons

Did Chrono always had immobile boon giving or where they nerfed into this state?

I don’t see it as support synergies, but more about ‘does this pair of support build cover everything we want?’. From there, players can pick what support comp they choose to take, as long as one covers important aspects that the other one lacks.

From my observations, support ‘synergies’ are not set in stone, but revolve around covering what is required from this following list. Support builds are/should be able to do a variety of the following, with gradings ‘low-mid-high’ and only maybe affected by difficulty/reliability v. output:

    • Dps
    • ‘General’ boons (e.g. fury, vigor, swiftness)
    • Might
    • Defensive boons (e.g. prot, stab, resistance)
    • Quickness
    • Alacrity
    • Healing
    • Barrier
    • Vulnerability
    • Unique buffs

Since players currently place a focus on the bolded terms, ideally a support build should not be able to do them all, nor should they be able to do none (e.g. healing-only builds are largely undesired). This is important to think about in ‘synergies’ (and even support viability in general), as supports should be chosen based on what is missing and what is available, rather than having set comps (unless beating record times).

pChrono (main), cWeaver and pReaper. An asura who likes snowflakes.

Signet of inspiration and mimic were almost 100% uptime on all boons with 2 chronos.

Also for example on MO there is only one support. Healthief. Nothing else needed so also no synergy needed.

10 pChronos (or recently, cChronos as well) is where it's at :+1:
