Increased Load Performance?

Had some amazing load times yesterday. Amnoon loaded from launch in only 20 seconds. I often get 2 minute loads.

It was also just Friday it hung for 3 minutes and I decided to re-log to get it to load.

How was it for everyone else?

I have the map load info switch in my load these past few months like I hadn’t the 6 years before because it was getting bad waiting for maps to load.

Nary an issue since moving to an SSD.

Man if a city loads in 20 seconds for me I would try another game. No it only takes a few seconds to load here.

Amnoon, was a little under 7 seconds for me... the only map I tend to get some up and down load times is LA, but then I guess that is to be expected, but even then it's never close to 20seconds.Time to upgrade that old 486DX system :)

2 minutes? Even on a HDD that is several years old it doesn't take that long and the connection is not great either.

The only time it would take a while is when I gobble up all the system memory which forces most of the game into swap but that is not surprising since it has to load around 2GB from disk in that case.

I’d get it if it was my machine if it was always the same, and I’ve had the same machine for 7 years with a change to the graphics card, but if I can get 20 secs, why would it sometimes be 2 minutes? I’ve always blamed the stream from the servers. Isn’t that what the map_state_stream means? Is it maybe a setting I should change?

My ssd is full :/ sadly everything is loading slower because of it.
