Last remnant of fail-farming in Cursed Shore

Recommended Posts

Quite some time ago, there was a series of fixes in Orr events to prevent players from farming events by failing them to restart faster parts of the event that spawn waves of enemies.
Changes included things like making the event take longer to restart if failed.

Anet released an official statement clearly indicating failing events on purpose is not the intended behavior players are supposed to engage in, and that harassing players for trying to complete events is not justifiable.

But not all events abused this way were fixed, one of the events was left out, and players are still abusing event failure and harassing anyone refusing to fail the event on purpose.

During this event, players are supposed to stay inside and defend the supplies, instead they will stay outside, kill any champions that spawn, then let the enemies destroy the supplies, so the escort resets faster, and harass any players who try to remain inside and complete the event as intended.

Orr used to be my favourite map until the fail train hit and the toxicity that ensued.I reported quite a few again these past few days for spewing their gutter trash to players wanting to not fail the Jofast event specificallyA com tag and a hoarde doesn't mean there are exclusive ownership rights to the map and any of its events, whether there is a Champ Rush or not.Best thing to do is just report the player/players place them on ignore and carry on playing your own game in peace and quiet.

It's still happening, tho. Although problems mostly arise when it's daily for those maps. Squads attempting to stall events to spawn champions and failing the dolyak squad to reset it sooner conflict with players trying to do dailies and players trying to do many events fast to get more bonus map rewards like lodestones and giant eyes.

I'd say the whole of Orr needs an update pass.
Have the temples reset at fixed times, give the exotic armors of each temple vendor different versions of the Temple armor skins by creating slightly different variations of the textures and models like more adorned in Lyssa and more tattered in Grenth, and make them have selectable stats, giving each temple a set of selectable Stats based on the content unlocked in the account: Power in Balthazar, Condition in Lyssa, Healing in in Dwayna, Toughness in Melandru and Vitality in Grenth.
That'll make Orr a neat place to get acquainted with higher level content and gear alts before moving forward to expansions with new characters.

Turn that negative farming into positive collaboration.
