Lanhelin.3480
Just like you did with Mentor, but pls also add the symbol and its color to become:Commander [Colored Symbol] Name : xyzor[Colored Symbol] Commander Name : xyzIt'd be a lot easier to locate them instead of always having to ask "where" - "at the xyz colored symbol", especially on PoF maps. The commander is a lot more expensive than griffon and usually the people who use it know what they do. They should be honored and visible at first sight in chat too. Currently it's easier to locate Mentors (and I use this option too to indicate where something happens) but Commanders should be treatet the same at least. Ayumi Spender.1082
Isn't Commander 300 gold? I never got it, but I heard it's 300.How is 50 Gold "a lot more"?

DebraKadabra.5278
Commander tag is 300 gold and 250 Badges of Honor, same with the Catmander tag.https://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Commander#Acquisition
castlemanic.3198
I don't understand why the commander tag doesn't already do this, and this is as someone who probably will never get the commander tag (however much I may want it).Hopefully this will be changed for map chat and the like. DebraKadabra.5278
It only changes in squad chat, and it's not like someone tagged up doesn't announce events/doings in map chat anyway./shrug
Ashen.2907
I'd rather not see yet more clutter added to another part of the game.
DebraKadabra.5278
^ I'd have to agree with that. I can understand that the Mentor tag carries different weight in chat, as it should since it technically isn't a Commander tag.
Lanhelin.3480
At least there should be "Commander" written before the name. Currently it's just the character name, like if there was no Commander tag at all. But the symbols are visible on the map. For me, reading the announcement, it'd be much easier to locate if I knew it was a Commander before asking "where" and getting the answer "the xyz colored symbol" - just like Mentor actually works. If there is an announcement by a Mentor, it's visible on the mini map and the map and, most important, in chat - so I know I have to scan the map for Mentor symbols to know where I should go, without the need to ask "where". DebraKadabra.5278
But.. people who have tagged up already DO announce where they are, either by closest waypoint and/or closest POI. If someone who's tagged up doesn't do that.. I'm not following the tag. That's just me though.

DebraKadabra.5278
Well, then like I said - I don't follow the tag if they don't at least give a courtesy post in map chat as to where they are.
Lanhelin.3480
Well, I'm curious about what the Commanders out there think about this suggestion. Do they want to stay camouflaged or would they prefer to be visible in chat?
Lunarlife.5128
I would like to have the prefix Commander added. That way it adds emphasis the way Mentor does. When I'm running a Mentor tag people will ask me questions, help, and so on. When I have commander tag on they don't. Khisanth.2948
If a commander wants to organize something then just use the LFG. If you are looking to do something go check there. Better than having map chat spam every couple of minutes and has the added benefit of working across instances.
DebraKadabra.5278
I have a tag, but I haven't run a squad recently (used to command NA Tequatl runs). I prefer the system the way it is.

Ayakaru.6583
I think the easiest solution would be have something like:[ <3 ]: Nikeita: escort starting in about 2 minutes.(Heart is replaced by a coloured dorito of whicher tag the commander has

I think it would likely stay as [Purple2] to prevent confusion.Perhaps another way is for numbers to reflect order of being enabled and not related to color at all, so commanders are free to change color and will retain the number and more easily be tracked. But colored icons are quicker to recognize and track than a digit on a colored icon. Also, what if Commander 1 removes their tag, do all of the others then drop down a digit or will there just not be a Commander 1 until another person tags up?I suppose they would need to brainstorm and try out different methods of implementation to find a good way of implementing it, if they were to even be interested in doing such a change.
