If you redo a story episode that has different choices, will it rewrite your journal differently?

For the account it won't, but the journal is per character so for that character there will be different text than for another one of your other characters (for example, your main and an alt).

Yes.

The text in the story journal should be for the first time that you do the instance. At least that was what they said when they first started to allow people to replay story instances. It might have changed since then, but I am sure it i just the first time that counts. Changing the journal might have an affect on the later instances that depend on that choice.

Path of fire is really the first time we've ever experienced a true choice that affects later story steps that can be replayed, but even then that effect is minimal. So i guess we're just gonna have to test it and break it.

I'd have to go with staring's answer here - once the original choice is made on that character, subsequent different choices on the same character may only matter from an achievement standpoint and wouldn't overwrite the journal/original choice.
