Cannot Dye Cape Until Transmuting Backpack To It

I searched the bug forum for "dye backpack" and did not find this posted about, apologies if someone has already brought this up.

I just purchased the Emblazoned Cape and noticed that the dye box does not show up while the transmutation is pending, only when I transmute my backpack fully to the Emblazoned Cape. Screenshots are as follows:

Going back to the dye panel, to preview dyes on the cape before okaying the transmutation. Notice the yellow square outline in the lower left corner. I believe this is supposed to be the dye box for the backpack slot.
