Mobs and bosses don't crit, right?

Can't find it anywhere: i am not sure if pve foes are able to crit and how much precision and ferocity they have? I need to know, if it is worth taking some crit protection trait as elementalist, if they do crit ... Including all foes, from solo non instanced pve to fractals, raids, from trash mobs to bosses. Do they crit, or do some of them crit?

Comments

  • Why wouldn't foes be able to crit? Without hacking the game (in at least some minor ways), it's not possible for us to know stats of NPCs. Even the wiki has to use observation and trial & error to determine which skills enemies use and often the coefficients for things like sigils or traits, when the game typically doesn't include such details.

And what exactly do you mean by "crit protection trait"?

"With great power comes not-so-great utility bills."

Elementalist > Earth spec > Stone Heart (tier 3): "You cannot be critically hit while attuned to Earth".
Have no idea if this works in pve ...

Mobs can crit you in PVE so the trait is useful.

But it Works only If you camp in earth so its worthless trait. Actually whole earth line is pretty worthless in pve unless ur running as auramancer for ur team

I'll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.

Right. It's not useless per se, it's just that there are so many other useful builds out there. Generally, this game favors active offense and active defense, rather than passive anything. Avoid spike attacks via dodge, evade, blocks, blinds, etc and instead focus on high-DPS or high-DPS/time builds so that foes don't survive long enough to have many chances to crit.
