sentry cap

twice tonight I got credit for sentry cap even though an enemy player killed me and took the sentry themselves. has this always been this way I just never noticed?

yep was right away, I was still lying there dead when they capped and I got credit

Credit for success or event fail credit? You can lose an event and still get gold participation for an event.

What likely happened is you got into a three-way: You, the enemy, and the Sentry, all belonging to different servers. In this case, you get credit if either of them dies, because they're enemies, but you won't if its your Sentry I think.

If you have been hitting guards you helped flipping the camp and have been rewarded. Everything fine so far i think :)

it can only be a three way, you hit the sentry once and you get yet participation i think. if you killed him, you surely get that, and yeah the enemy can "take over" your capping progress. this kinda stuff works not only for sentries, but for every WvW capping circle.

No, if you are red and attack a blue sentry, a green shows up, kills you and then flips the blue sentry you usually shouldnt get flip reward.

Imagine killing a guard infront of the keep and getting keep flip reward, when the other enemy server takes that keep. That would be kitten.

I had this happen to me before. Those sentries seem to just be pve events, and it doesn't discriminate for event participation, thus getting you the daily (for instance) even if another team actually got the ownership.

Not sure there needs any change, though. At least it works as consolation prize for the defeated. :P
