I'm currently trying to run a Mirage Axe/Torch Sword/Pistol build for roaming, but still getting used to
Necro, guard, or rev.

Finding Null Field to be doing work - enjoying using it again after a long time, and while I am being a lot more cautious in managing evades/defensive cooldowns, so far haven't had as much difficulty as I'd anticipated.
But yeah, need a lot more play time to determine just how effective it stacks up in various situations.

Dude, just go for full bunker the only way Mirage can.
Sceptre Torch /Staff.
Sceptre's block is very powerful.
Torch is good for burst condi still.
Staff can be used to kite and apply condis.
There are builds that favour pistol but imo it's not safe to run pistol and give up either torch or staff.
If I play a stupid build, I deserve to die.
If I beat people on a stupid build, I deserve to get away with it.
Ok, last couple of days I've been having surprising success with Axe/Focus + GS grieving build using Elusive Mind. Some good small fights.
Still refining/tweaking gear and build, but so far it seems better than expected.
I think mirage in general is fine in wvw thanks to food and gear, though that of course doesn't mean Anet shouldn't do some serious changes in the next few patches to help the spec.
