Minis don't unlock when combined in the mystic forge

In buying a ton of green raptors and starting to combine them up to finish their collection, I notice that they're not unlocking as I forge them. Someone in my guild told me that's working as intended and I refuse to believe that. So the mystic forge unlocks things you combine in it*.

*not minis trolololol kitten you.

What gives?!

Your guildie was correct:

• armor & weapon skins unlock in the forge; nothing else does
• Dyes do not unlock for when forged
• Minis do not unlock either.
• This has always been true since the Wardrobe was introduced.

The trivial argument is that dyes & minis aren't in the same wardrobe. (That begs the question as to why ANet decided to treat them differently in the first place. Near as I can tell, no developer has ever commented on this.)
