Deflecting Shot Needs Help (Longbow 3)

It cannot be used reactively

The cast time is ridiculous (so is the one on Revenant staff 5)

You have to have crazy foresight to figure out where an enemy is going to walk

The projectile itself is too slow to hit targets farther away more often than not

It does no damage, so at least let it be a good CC tool

The no cc damage is normal since they are finding(I hope) what to do with the cc skils besides damage.

Deflecting shot needs to be blockabke but if blocked will set target on fire, if not will KB player, we need this kinda of double effect skils like gw1 has.

And yes need to happen faster than it is maybe the cast is ok, but the arrow fly time.... even rocks fly faster :D

Or change name and description on the skill “ the arrow that can be outrunned by everything”

If it ever becomes blockable, it better become a targeted projectile that we do not need to aim

Point blank shot 1/2 cast timedeflecting shot 3/4 cast timePoint blank shot fast projectiledeflecting shot slow projectilePoint blank shot auto aimdeflecting shot manual aimBut that's not all, DH overall needs help, deflecting shot is only 1 skill.DH bow skills we're very comparable to ranger bow skills before, we had trade off's.Where ranger had range/burst/speed, while we compensated with solid damage/utility.DH's barrage has no damage post patch due to the immobilize if enemies take 3 tick's, and remain in the field when the skill ends.Ranger barrage has great damage post patch while applying cripple(soft condi cc) every damage tick.DH lost a lot of damage from the patch, because it has a lot of little cc mechanics where it would've been better to lose the CC in some cases, but damage was dropped in all cases.

If you are comparing Deflecting Shot and Point Blank Shot like this, at least be fair and show the whole picture.

Yes, go trade unblockables with a ranger.Didn't notice the blind, blind is good, but 2s of blind isn't going to carry a weapon.In 30 seconds you can shoot 3 arrows to the rangers 2, this skill hits less than 1 out of 3, but you might land 1.There used to be a mechanic to blocking projectiles, deflecting shot should've gotten test of faith treatment, very low initial damage but pass through(blocks coefficient) increased, but who needs mechanics.

I do not think the comparison between both skills is too valid. On DS, I do not mind if they remove the unblockable part and the blind is tacked on for no reason. It made sense when way back in the day when it was supposed to be counter ranged skill. Now it does not.

The only comparison I can really draw out of DS and PB comparison, is that DS does not work, cuz Anet nerfed what made the skill function. PB still works well.

Forgive me @"mrauls.6519" but LB needs more than just looking at deflecting shot. The whole is terrible.

-AA is slow and can be strafe-dodged(to a lesser extent than scepter)-Trueshot doesn't even hit that hard for one of the most obvious of all skills along with it rooting you. By common-sense logic, this thing should 1-shot anyone it hits due to that fact.-Deflecting shot.....you already nailed it-Symbol of who cares....it's a symbol, you all know my feelings on this mechanic-Ring of anyone-can-dodge....this needs to be reverted back.

Pre last patch, if they buffed TS by 10%, changed the stability from heavy light to 4 sec quickness, I think LB/sword DH what have been in pretty solid spot.

But now.. nothing really works. Not LB, or any power weapon/build in sPvP. It is either FB or some troll bunker build to waste time.

Of course skills functionality and use ability dropped. You took a stable sPvP design and balance, that took about 2.5 years to get there (since PoF release, at least). Then a new PvP dev comes around and wants to create a “new paradigm” while completely disregarding all learning experience accumulated over the years. What do you think will happen? You get beta gameplay in 8 year old game, with everything being seriously fucked up design and balance wise.

Honestly if they just revert the cast time back to 0.25s everything else is fine.

I have no idea who at ANet was responsible for adjusting Deflecting Shot but I can assure you that they're no DH main. On a side note in case ANet drops by-BRING BACK HAMMER GUARDIAN
