GW2 Coherent Crash

Hi,

I have fresh Windows 10 1903 and I downloaded GW2 x64 installer to re-install and receive this error instantly after opening installer, I have tried other fixes that are posted online and none have worked, does anyone know how I can fix this?

getting this same error and i can't even uninstall the game or else it gives the error too wtf.

Getting what might be similar errors intermittently since yesterday. They invariably happen either during login or when I try to swap maps. Usually they're followed by a "Connection errors - retrying" message when I try to log back in; sometimes that clears and I can play again (until the next time).

Hmm. My version of the problem seems to be related to the latest Windows patch, plus running Comodo Firewall. Haven't had time to investigate properly, but I suspect that Comodo and the Windows firewall were trying to run concurrently, and not playing nicely. With Comodo uninstalled, my set up currently seems stable.

Did you make sure nothing is interfering with the Coherent program? Virus/Malware/Adware scanners, etc.?

If you're still trying to run Gw2Setup-64.exe, create a Guild Wars 2 folder on your desktop (it can be moved wherever you want later), move Gw2Setup-64.exe into that folder, then rename it to Gw2-64.exe and run it.

FYI try (temporarily) changing your default browser to something else. There's some rare instances of Coherent getting confused about it and toggling the Windows preference would resolve that. Likewise, some anti-malware software sometimes doesn't whitelist 3rd party software, although that seems less likely.

And finally, if you have your old drive, you can literally copy and paste its GW2 folder to the new computer and it will work.

Tip: don't install to c:\Program Files. For a variety of reasons, your likely to have fewer issues (in the long run) if you install to e.g. c:\Games.(A lot of people will never have to worry about that; this is to preempt becoming one of the unlucky ones.)

Thank you, I tried both of these, I got further, it began to download the game and some tmp/dat files but it happened again with the exact same error.
