Well welcome to fashion and gem wars 2. There is no guild fighting or guild wars, pvp is a joke and has been since launch with dancing in circles while being aoed. Best option would be bring all of the Guild Wars 1 team back and let everyone else go. Obviously there is a severe lack of understanding of the game and lack of understanding of what the player base wants.

There's also the thing too that it'll completely decimate whatever's left of Conquest's ever shrinking populace. That's also a reason why they won't ever have it as a permanent addition. In a perfect pvp world, you'd have 2v2/3v3 ranked queueables with leaderboards, 1-5 mixed ranked queue again. GvG support and your ATs for real competitions. We live in the opposite universe where this exists.

This seems to be the biggest problem with Arenanet. It's a boring answer not many people find exciting like certain big name people leaving the game, or the layoffs. But there is something fundamentally wrong with the actual production pipeline. Like Anet needs to figure out how to get a team of under the hood people to actually hammer out the problems with the production pipeline. It's insane looking at the old two-week content cadence and looking how absolutely glacial the release and update schedule has grown.

Yep that's what we've heard bits and pieces of. The game engine is ancient and suffers anything from combat pathing problems, teleport skill problems, skill jams associated with ping; all the way to map phasing, player count limit in maps, PvP queue system issues with player de-registration from map after match, and automation in tournaments.

Whew, it's not mentioned much but it's a 7-year-old game with ever more stuff piled on its system and more expectations for things to work with new coding. Maybe it's time to do a big game engine upgrade for the next expansion - I'm sure the game is not doing too badly despite how we doom and gloom all the time on the forums. PvE has always thrived and more than a lot of other MMOs.
