Guild Bank Depositing

Depositing in the guild bank is currently not functioning correctly. I have tried several guilds and I have had other players do the same. For some reason it won't allow anyone to deposit. It is not a premission issue I checked those and all are allowed to deposit. Also I am guild lead and I can depsit anything. We are able to withdraw though.

    Great. Now I am stuck with stuff in my inventory that I don't need. ;) Hope this gets fixed soon. :/

    Historically, there are only two reasons ANet suspends a function on a weekend:

    • Emergency balance issue, and they always offer an explanation for those
    • Blocking an exploit until it can get fixed; they almost never offer an explanation for these.

    Well it wasn't listed in supports known issues so I generated a ticket. Least I don't need to reload game.....

    I pulled out some siege items last night so I could consolidate them into stacks, now they are stuck in my backpack. Glad to hear it's not just me. I already sent a letter to my guild leader explaining why I took a bunch of siege and never replaced it.

    Be sure to close your ticket by responding to the automated reply with "I no longer need help".

    I agree with your reasoning but it's still poor customer service.

    i have the same problem, nice to come on here and see there's a reason and i'm not just going insane. but i have a solution for all of you. send me your items and i will store them on my alts for a 10% of value fee per day :D hehe

    Any update on this as yet ANET.. things are starting to pile up.... soon we may start seeing the LA gold beggars rifling through our overflow stashes that are sure to begin littering the pavements.

    As a reminder: this is not a "bug;" it's a deliberate decision to block the feature's use probably because there's some exploit that needs to be prevented before they can turn it on. ANet isn't likely to forget.

    Wouldn't be quite so bad if I could send more than 2 mails from an alt to my main before getting suppressed for excessive messaging...

  • Maybe bank tab limit could be increased now?
    Maybe a reason to buy more inv space....
    Maybe some players are extra lucky to own the deep vault, and some of us are stuck with the basic one....

    Is there now an issue taking items out of the guild bank.. been trying for 10mins now to retrieve things but no dice.

    EDIT... seems there is just another huge delay getting stuff, panic over.. but it should never be taking this long, as if the TP wasn't bad enough

    Rubi works during Pacific time and she posted before 8 am her time (according to your post) (more like 8 hours after the first report in this thread). While the person responsible for disabling the guild bank might have been able to do so at 12:30 in the morning ANet time, the people responsible for official public announcements (e.g. Rubi) don't usually do so, unless it's all-hands-on-deck. G-banks being unavailable is important, sure; I don't see how it's urgent enough to wake everyone up.

    Sorry that does not wash.. if ANET are responsible for disabling a feature of the game (important feature as it is) then they should also be mindful of making the playerbase aware of such intentional disabling.. the game is 24hr global, ANET were there disabling the function, it does not take only Rubi to post an announcement almost 12 hrs after the first report from players went to the forums that it was not functioning, that is simply poor handling of the situation.

  • Not everyone can post in News and Announcements. You must have a special account.
    And, would the playerbase believe it if 'Joe Blow' posted on the forums that something had been disabled? Likely, just a different set of complaints about not being perfect.

    Hmmm... any official post by ANET to advise a feature has had to be disabled would be taken as fact, why wouldn't it - to say otherwise would be silly at best.
    Yes of course not everyone would have or should have access to certain forum segments, but when your undertaking the removal of important services within the game it is absolutely expected that someone be granted or have access to the forum to advise its customers that such and such has to be disabled until further notice. To not at least push an in game warning or a forum post is imo just bad form.

    Not all Devs have 'splash' accounts. So, should they post without one, they would be considered 'Joe Blow'.
    Only Moderators can access sections such as 'News and Announcements'.

    It's not that big a deal; a few hours in which we couldn't deposit, and didn't know why, just like last time. Relax.

    Hmm a few hours..
    They don't need splash accounts and I would hazard a guess all those in positions of responsibility have the ability to post under ANET creds.. no info on the actual reason for the disabling was required, just some form of official notification, which ANET finally decided to do thro Rubi, 12hrs too late.
    As for relaxing, yep it's no big deal, for me at least, but that does not mean they handled it very well.

    Strangely enough it is now back up and working after the login outage this morning.. coincidence?

    Guild Bank depositing was working about 5 hours ago when I swapped accounts.
