They stood upright. Their neck shorter. They were legends lost in the memory of the Mist. Only few know where to find them. If only Aurene with the guided blessing of Glint could guide the way to them. Life on Tyria would be better for all kind.

The bestial stance is part of what makes Charr interesting and different from the other races of Tyria (as well as other games with nonhuman options). If you tilt Charr upright, they look just like Ogres, Giants, and wereform Norn. In the name of uniqueness and of ferocious catbeef capable of intelligent thought and mechanical design, please keep Charr crinkly and hunched when at rest.

They're more Charrming that way.

Well, here's some of the original concepts for the charr back in GW1 development:https://1.bp.blogspot.com/_yIj1ji8qCsc/Sc-iXxLwiqI/AAAAAAAANQo/XdOPgmupp40/s1600-h/charr.jpghttps://3.bp.blogspot.com/_yIj1ji8qCsc/Sc-iYM3p64I/AAAAAAAANQw/h2DOKw2pOOE/s1600-h/charr2.jpg

Kekai Kotaki took over the artwork from Eye of the North onwards, after which they converged on the hunched appearance.

  • Race change contract?
  • Alternative poses for your race?
  • More racial abilities?
  • Alternative emotes?
  • Alternative bonus mission packs?
  • More ways to express your character?

Here, take the Outfit.

would like my neck pulled back would be a start. But a customizable combat tonic would be fine enough for me.

In lore, the only charr to "stand upright" were the shaman caste, especially those of the Flame Legion. Note that this remains true in GW2, where we have Fire Shamans, Lava Shamans, Smoke Shamans, Igniters, and our boy Gaheron Baelfire being the ones to stand upright - as well as the Molten Alliance members, Brawlers and Gunners who're godforged shamans who took on sonic weaponry. A legacy of the shaman caste's upright practices outside the Flame Legion could be seen even in the player characters - equip a staff on necro and cast some marks, watch your character stand upright! There are other spellcasting animations that have the charr stand upright for the duration of the spellcasting.

We are not Flame Legion. We do not stand upright.

The hunched posture is not only natural for the charr, but in charr society it's even seen as the posture of an oppressor (no, not a superior, but a fascist!).

As to the long neck... yeah that was a weird choice, and hurts a lot of helm designs.

That's an armor concept art. They start those out with a "t-pose" for all races to design how it looks before switching it to various model stances.

But it show upright examples of Charr and how they could potentially look. I would love the neck to come back some. Can keep the run and all that, but when not running on four legs I want shorter neck so head armor don't look so bad.
