fb nerf on 1 less way to give bullshit group retal actually might help us too on top of the scourge, rev, scrapper nerfs. Mainly the scourge barrier nerfs that mitigates a lot of our damage might be big.

warrior 10 man barrier/dps/resistance buff seem a bit retarded though and might negate the nerfs these classes receive

The thing for me was never the damage - because anyone can bring that. The issue is allowing Ele to have smth unique to add to the party.

For example, FB got an Aegis spam nerf but still it can't be replaced because of Stab. Scourge is the only reliable source for corrupts and Herald do what they do with party utility.

I just would love Ele to have a place in the meta without having to ask for an FB/Herald in their party every time they join a squad. Otherwise... yeah... we could've gotten nerfs, so it's still a win-win.

Weaver, berserker and to some degree daredevil have the most damage potential in large scale. Weaver is the only one that can do it from range and it's the only class that benefits a lot from choke points. With this nerf, rev damage will be lower even though it's generally more reliable than ele (but still has less potential than ele, especially after nerf).

Ele has among best CC (on both dps and support builds, especially with arcane wave immobs), among highest healing output on tempest, very high condi cleanse potential (especially after nerfs to fb/scrapper cleanses, although they have more condi converts) and very good chill spam with aura. The unique things may not be strong, but tempest certainly has many things that benefit group (10 man stun break+superspeed, 10 man heals, strong burst heal, strong sustained heals, lots of ranged CC, even more melee CC, downed prevention, strong aoe revival with staff+arcane, good uptime on frost aura which reduces damage taken etc.)

Obviously all of those could be replaced, but you'll need more classes to cover same things, which is why you'll always want at least a couple of tempests and a few weavers in each blob. Both have arguably the highest aoe coverage on both damage and support so if it becomes meta (aka mandatory), it will be a bit too broken. I'd rather have it as a niche, but very strong pick where skill matters more than class choice.

Weaver may be the best power dmg class after these update but its still a power / physical dmg on a mages class balancing so there is room to question this chose anet has made.

Tempest root / support build should get some what of a boost from this update as well.

This all up in the air as there no real time line and wvw maybe out of players by the time it happens.

Unless you build your weaver to be a glass cannon you can't match the capability of scourge or rev in WvW. Eles usually are used to deal with siege and for stairways or other uneven terrain where CoR won't reach.

The first issue is meteor scaling & cast time and the lava font nerfs. The second issue is staying alive if you run glassy: it's not intuitive to those that haven't been playing weaver for a while. Power overwhelming trait changes help a bit but you really want guardians' empower or a herald providing might.

The CoR nerf will still have it inline with staff 2 on air , water, or earth attunement albeit on 4 cooldown ; phase smash / drop the hammer are more delayed (similar to scepter 2 Dragon's tooth).
