Aesthetically pleasing, yet uncommon, race for Revenant?

Sylvari is literally the poster child for Revenant that everyone just chooses to ignore and they say it's Rytlock. Who's picture is it on the official Renegade art? A Sylvari. Who's picture is it on the official Herald art? A Sylvari. Just like how Necromancer is Asura's poster child and Engineer is Charr's. That being said all classes surprisingly equally fit Revenant, you just have to know your lore and have an ability called nuance.

Who was the first revenant? Rytlock. A charr. Who should be on art? A charr.

"Revenant is by far the newest profession in Tyria, having been introduced to the world by Rytlock Brimstone in 1328 AE, who in turn learned it from Glint while searching the Mists for the lost Sohothin. Much like the ancient Canthan ritualists, revenants often blindfold themselves to aid their focus in communing with the spirits."

Its charr profession just like engineer. Salad go home before ill get hungry for some green snack

This always saddens me as the moment Rytlock respecced from warrior to revenant marked the moment of neglection and fall of the warrior class 😞

It's less that Rytlock changes professions and more that Arenanet refuses to give Warrior elite specializations that bring as much as the other professions' elite specialization do.

Besides both cases happening with the release of HoT, they are unrelated.

For me the best ones are sylvari and charr, but I guess charr doesn't match as "uncommon".

I would totally play sylvari just for the aesthetics, but then I see the running animation and the voice... and I can't.

I agree so much with the running animation aversion. It's so awful I have never been able to stick to a sylvari, even though I love the aesthetics and the customization options for them.

Trying to find a race to make my Rev, that isn't the common or "Go-to", race for this class/spec, that still has the Rev feel to it. So far I am very much considering Sylvari for it, it's not a common choice for one, and two, the race itself has a glow to go along with the color swirl the class has around the hand/forearm.

With millions of characters out there, there is no such thing as a unique choice for profession + race.

Funny, I’ve made so many Char and deleted them because of precisely this. Their loping run makes me feel like I’m watching molasses flow.

That was my issue, too. To me it's impossible to play charr on a build without perma swiftness. Actually that was a reason to go charr rev at first, because of Facet of Elements, but then PoF happened and my charr looks so goofy riding a raptor that's clearly too small for him, so now my rev is human.

How do you cope with re-rolling characters? I've always wanted a Charr Rev alongside my human one but just can't stand having to go trough the personal story, 3 LW seasons and 2 expansions again.

I'm struggling every day to choose a race for my new rev.

I like the asuras, but I have never played with a charr. Do the charrs have any aesthetic or animation issues that you know about?

The running animation bothers some people due to it being slow (thus the comment above saying you "need" movement speed), not everyone's case though.

What does bother me, are mounts. I find the size of them quite ridiculously undersized for charr.

Sylvari Revenant because it's the newest race in Tyria and the newest class/profession, and because the specialization artwork depicts a Sylvari, it just feels right for some reason, but almost everyone will tell you Human or Charr because Rytlock was the first Revenant and all the Legends tie into GW1 and the Human lore.

Reves powers com from the mists, but sylvari culture isnt into it, they believe in some kind of connection with the pale tree like in the avatar movie, I dont think sylvaris go to the mists after death.
