Guardian has an amazing burst damage, which works wonders in fractal teams, but when you solo champions or hard content the battles last long and the damage orver time and sustain becomes more important. With symbols and/or traps Guardians (core/DH/Firebrand) are excellent to kill larger numbers of low to moderately dangerous foes, but with 11k only native HP a single mistake buries your Guardian against a lot of bosses.
