Class and race statistics

GW2 Efficiency records and shares various stats, but only from players who have given the site their info via an API code. So it's probably biased towards long-term or dedicated players who want to use the site for info on their account (like what to sell to get some quick gold or what you still need for a legendary weapon) and will be missing a lot of casual players who are fine without that info or don't know the site exists. (As shown by the fact that 79% of accounts on there have both expansions and only 1.6% are free accounts. I'm sure in reality there's far more free and core only accounts, but I also know my second - core only - account isn't on there but my main one - with all expansions - is, so I'm one of the people messing up the data.)

Anet have occasionally given official stats which will include everyone in the game, but only rarely I think the most recent one was around the time PoF was released, but I can't find it now.

Here you go:https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/guild-wars-2-the-first-year/

This is from the first year of the game, if I'm not mistaken, future infographics did not have race/profession data.

You can see this one:https://www.guildwars2.com/en/news/the-path-to-the-desert-in-numbers/

Which states which profession/race combo is the most (Male Human Warrior) and least popular (Female Charr Revenant).

If you want to see what are the combinations used by the most active players in the game then gw2efficiency is a great source:

I was really surprised when I saw that a female charr revenant was the least used combination. I'm not sure why but a female charr was always my 'default' for revenant. If I was going to make one and didn't deliberately think about picking something else that's what I'd make.

My first 'permanent' revenant was a male norn, because at the time I was aiming for fewer characters total and a balance of males and females and I was short on males. But part of the reason I reshuffled some of my characters was I finally admitted I wanted the female charr revenant to be permanent. (I also didn't like revenant staff skills and wanted the norn to use Nevermore, so he became a necromancer instead.)

Yeah, that one amused me because female charr revenant is my second-most played character nowadays.
